Have yet to see him fight in a skilled manner (TBF, I haven't seen a bunch of his fights due to their shltty level of opponent).

Simply winning isn't indicative of skill. He was just the less sloppy guy in the ring at that time.

I have to sort of agree but it was an exciting fight. It was not a boxing match and that was done on purpose from Fury's side.
The heavyweight era is a weak era to be honest, so many out of shape heavyweights these days or you also have heavyweights that have too much muscle and gas out.
Its still exciting though even though the skill level is not great.

I just come from a boxing era where to claim to being an all time great you have to beat the very best in the division and at the moment fury has not.
fury has beaten the same fighter 3 times now and after the 2nd fight with wilder we said why see another one.....wilder besides taking more punishment had no improvements and was gassed by the 5th round.....it was a brilliant slugfest but skill level it was poor....so once again people are basing fury over a win he wa expected to win over a fighter he beat easily the 2nd fight.....so what changed lol
let fury beat the other champion and then it’s decided

I’ve made countless threads on this subject.

Everyone will complain because they want to pretend they’re watching something great.

Well, i agree in a way. They both didnt look that good today.
Wilder was as usual. Nothing new, but i haven’t followed him until he got belt.
Fury is not that good as people think he is. Just big guy who makes fights ugly. Actually i favor usyk now over him if he shows up for fight same way as today

                  Here's what you missed.

You focused too much on technique. Rumble in the Jungle was a clinchfest but is heralded as an ATG classic. If that was a classic, Fury/Wilder 3 was at least twice so.

                  You ignored
                  • Heart
                  • Tenacity
                  • Willpower
                  • Power (in general)
But most importantly...you ignored the one factor that's been missing in EVERY FIGHT in the past 7-8 years: an element of tense danger from both guys in the ring, where either could get dropped at any point and you just don't know how the pendulum will swing. That feeling persisted through Round 6. From 6-10 Wilder was on the edge but he was still catching Fury with shots and you still didn't know if Fury would buckle; then Fury gassed a bit and Wilder started windmilling, and you didn't know if Fury would catch something.

That uncertainty - that "smoke" - I dare you to name another fight that had that level of "edge of the seat" question to it.

The ONLY one I can possibly recall is Gvozdyk/Beterbiev. MAYBE Srisaket/Choco 1. MAYBE Spence/Porter. MAYBE Porter/Berto. MAYBE Pac/Horn. Other than that...

fury definitely didn't ahve the bounce in his step at 275ish or whatever he was, but you have to remember that these guys have been shelved for a long time for a number of reasons, and boxing economics, covid, etc won't allow them to take tune ups at the moment for money they can stomach!

i want you to put however much weight you need in a backpack until you weigh 275 lbs. then i want you to get your biggest friend to lean on you. then i want you to dance around like you're muhammad ali and see how comical you look.

fury is a great heavyewight. he just is. the guy beat wladimir klitschko when he had a little left in the tank, beat every contender they put in front of him. he's got a very hard style for a lot of historic heavyweights given that he is tall, awkward, has skills, and can get off the deck.

last night's fight was a little short of an all time great fight in my estimate, but boy was it fun and dramatic and at the pinnacle of the sport and boy was i happy to see it.

let fury get down to 250 or 260 and we'll see if he's still got some bounce in his step. people forget that he's gotten off the deck 4 times against wilder and gone 30 rounds with one of the hardest punchers ever and has deteriorated from these fights as well.
