not really.
when ggg fought canelo he had plenty of support from the mexicans.
i'm a member of a few boxing groups on FB and i've seen black dudes there call the very few black people who support fury/didn't care about the result of the fight traitors etc. literally never seen a member of other group do that. to them this fight is all about race. it's actually quite funny if you think about it.Comment

I'm American and I can't stand afrocentric racist clowns like Wilder. I hope he gets embarassed again by a "white boi" lol.Comment

Fury is an amazingly skilled fighter and boxing will suffer the day he hangs it up. But Fury can grow tiring very quickly. A lot of legit boxing fans in the UK really didn't like the stunt he and Arum pulled in those supposed AJ Fury negotiations. Joshua may have losses some stock and maybe considered the lesser of the two fighters. But you still need to actually fight, consistently. And against decent opposition. Fury hasn't really been doing that and I think he runs on thinner ice than even he realises. Americans will grow tired of him quickly if he goes back to fighting bums after this win.
My take on the nationalism is... Everybody is passionate about who they support. Thats boxing. Wilder is either some loud mouthed bigot who can't accept a loss, or, a great puncher who was wronged, and the very salvation for the purity of the American Heavyweight champ with a punch of granite! And likewise for Fury...he is either a lound mouthed self entitled poser of a gypsy, a cheater, a reprobate of the worse order, or he is amazing phenomena, a big fighter who can move well, with a boxing mind second to none (perhaps Usyk), and proof that British heavyweights, with the advent of Lewis have come out of the weak chinned, low risk, types...who moved well when looking for a place on the canvas to take a nap.
I see: two talented fighters. One guy has packed on some muscle properly, to increase his punch effectiveness. The other guy moving like a throwback fighter because he was brought up boxing from an early age...But Fury is a bit heavy and that concerns me. I do think he takes it though.Comment

So to be fair... there is no guilt about it. Its boxing in this country... Today, poor Polish immigrants who have little bring their flags when they go to see Polish fighters. One day when a Polish fighter becomes champ, that feirce ethnic pride will become the flame that helps melt those Polish people into that same melting pot.
I don't claim to understand British fans... I only know they are loyal and thats good enough for me. I may disagree with Sid knee's rants on occasion, but I cut slack because there has to be something driving the loyalty that British fans have for their fighters... But its disingenius to claim to know Black fans from the United States coming from Europe. Just my two cents.Comment

American here and I'm backing Wilder. I also spoke to my colleagues this week and they support Wilder as well. Sure Fury has fans in the US, but don't sell the false narrative that he has more support in the US than Wilder. If that was true, Fury wouldn't have been getting booed at the press conferences.
