I kinda consider a lot of young guys mentally weak, zero to do with skin color.
Are black heavyweights of this era mentally weak?

There are no natural born boxers - boxing is learned. But there are natural born fighters. We can argue that Fury is a natural born fighter to an extent due to being a traveller (all the travellers I know can fight - it’s cultural) but Usyk isn’t a natural fighter. The AJ hypetrain is throwing him under the bus after a somewhat competitive loss. The guy started boxing late (so did Wilder) and both went right to the top. They couldn’t beat natural born boxers in Fury and Usyk and there’s no shame in that. They’ve over achieved and achieved a lot between them.
Jury is still out on Dubois.
No boxer is perfect and you’re as good as how you maximise your attributes. Both AJ and Wilder crumbled because they’re mentally weak.Comment

I don’t think AJ is mentally weak, well not completely. I do think he somewhat believes in himself a lot, maybe to a delusional state, I mean who creates a game plan thinking they can outbox Usyk? - maybe he’s just not boxing smart thought. That said, I think he does have demons from fights gone by once the bell goes, so maybe he is in that sense.
I also think he isn’t that bright. He comes across as a guy with fairly low intelligence trying to sound intelligent and profound, but he can do it enough to fool even less intelligent people. Wilder tries sometimes but his even lower level of intelligence shines through at all times.
As for signing to Eddie Hearn for the rest of his career. I just hope he has some good get out clauses. Not that I don’t think Eddie isn’t a great promoter, he clearly is, And you don’t hear very much about him screwing fighters over in terms of money and things. But at the end of the day, any promoter is only loyal to you until it suits them. I don’t think it’s wise for anyone to sign very long term deals in boxing.Last edited by deathofaclown; 10-07-2021, 01:16 PM.Comment

I grew up being a fan of black heavyweights due to how powerful, strong, durable and mentally strong they’re. But it seems there’s a paradigm shift with this era.
Wilder
Talks like he’s Deebo from Friday but it’s a front to mask the little girl he’s beneath that. So it isn’t shocking he wants to get pregnant and also likes twerking. Also a grown man who gets controlled by Shelley Finkle is a weakling.
AJ
Talks I’m circles like a guru who’s taking philosophy classes but beneath that is a weak guy who gets pushed around by a snake oil salesman masquerading as a promoter. This doofus is the only boxer in the modern era to sign his life away to a promoter whilst claiming loyalty. And in the ring, he’s just confused and insecure.
Dubois
Talks like a robot and I’d rather watch paint dry than listen to him speak. And he’s a quitter.
Have you just attached yourself to the Fury bandwagon?
Never thought I’d see the day.
