Usyk has beaten truly dangerous men, Lomachenko only beat little guys and lost twice already, including to a pretty simple game plan against Teo.

A couple of years ago we had people claiming Loma would go down as the greatest ever, he was never going to live up to the standards his fans made.

In Lomos defense he will go down as the greatest ever in the amateurs. As far as a pro he made a dent early but obviously didnt consider a young hungry fighter wanting recognition or the older guy with 1 last good fight in him. Lomo is damn good but not legendary.

Usyk doesn't get in his own head like Lomachenko does. Lomachenko backs up too much and goes gunshy when he's pressured.

Usyk beat the best at Cruiserweight, won the CW tournament, unified all 4 belts, and went undefeated.

3 fights in to the HW division and he is 3-0 with 3 major titles and a win over the then #1 HW in an upset.

Usyk and Lomachenko are virtually the same age, have roughly the same amount of pro fights, and very similar amateur backgrounds in terms of how extensive it was, but different styles. With Usyk’s 350 amateur fights vs 397 fights for Lomachenko. So Usyk is not exactly more seasoned or Lomachenko is not green. So it’s not age or experience.

Lomachenko also did start his pro career with Salido, who was ranked #2 by The Ring at 126 followed by Gary Russell Jr. Lomachenko in 17 fights, has fought and beaten as many or more top 10 Ring ranked fighters than most of the active boxers. You’re bound to get criticized when all you do is fight top 5–10 fighters. You will face stiffer challenges and look more vulnerable. Every fighter who has success in boxing has a fight or two where they were pushed to the limits.

With Lomachenko, it’s magnified because he mostly has been fighting top 10 fighters almost always.

Imagine Usyk’s second pro fight was vs Tyson Fury. Then his third vs Wilder.

All I can say is, both have had praise worthy resumes. But fans and media prefer a fighter bulldozing through everyone, while going 30-0 with 30 KO’s. Then they say losses don’t matter if you are fighting the best. Lomachenko is one of the few fighters that fight top 10 fighters almost nonstop.

Different courses in their careers. Loma beat a lot of good fighters in his short career and went up in weight were his skills got him the win but you can see he is struggling with much bigger guys.

If Usyk keeps the good run I would say yes. People putting down Loma because his hardcore fans but he is a very good fighter.

There is a lot of random chance how thing play out, I think.

Loma's management should have left Salido standing on the scale and Lawrence Cole didn't do his job but that fight at least was a great learning experience.

It was the Linares fight that may have ruined Loma's career.

After seeing the Lopez fight it's difficult for me to imagine a healthy Loma losing to Lopez. Difficult for Lopez too apparently.

Usyk was a little bit fortunate with the way things played out. He didn't take a lot of damage before his HW title fight. I think if Usyk had had to take a few more fights against monsters like Chisora, before he met Joshua, things might have played differently. Also, post-Ruiz Joshua hasn't got the same mojo.
