Eastern European amateurs vs. Cuban amateurs in the Pros

this is something I noticed.....it seems while Cuban amateurs end up being slightly more technically skilled, I noticed that E. European boxing (Ex Soviet/Ukraine/Russia/) amateurs tend to have more success in the pros. Of course this could be a generalization, but there is also that saying that the "Cuban style doesn't translate well"... is there a reason why the former has more success in the pros,

Do you even accept that premise in the first place?

Because Cubans are fvkcing boring. The Europeans aren't afraid to put a schooling and make it entertaining by fighting on the front foot whereas the Cuban runs and fights on the backfoot the whole fight Afraid to exchange

Keep in mind that Cuba's population is only 11 million while Russia's alone is 114 million. That's not including the rest of the Soviet countries.

You are so full of $h1t. For every Cuban fighter that defected, and they do it almost at their end or past their prime, they are 50 european fighters turning pro. For any Cuban athlete to leave the country, they have to go thru hell, and if they are on top of their class, forget it. Why don't you check the new generation that defected fairly young? You are going to tell me that Dorticos, Yuni Gonzalez, Yoan Pablo, JC Gomez, Barrera, Machado, Ugas, Casamayor, Hurtado and a few more, are or were boring? Just because Rigondeaux is a stubborn man. You can't count Lara as a boring fighter, every time he has a dancing partner he delivers. Right now we have Morell Jr., Yoelvis Gomez, William Scull, Matellon, Robeisy, Ariel Perez, Pero, Fransua and Sanchez(I'm pretty sure I am forgetting a couple of them, fighting out of Mexico) a dozen or so fighters. Count how many eastern europe boxers are fighting professionally. I have never seen so many fans talking/writing out of their arse and hating on a group of athletes, that they don't know in what condition they sign to be a professional fighter. Be safe.

They're boring bro. Accept it. Ask any boxing fan casual or hard-core who they would rather watch a Cuban or European they will go with a European.

Not only the population, but it is also very hard for them to start early because the goverment has them inside a prison, the whole country is a prison. When they're kids, they don't think about defecting. Once they mature and start seeing the whole picture, they have to decide, leaving behind all they know, including family and friends, and then waiting for the right time. And when they finally arrive, most of the time freedom takes over the sport. Be safe

You didn't answer my question. Name one of those above, which one is boring? You're not elaborating. Would you rather watch Morell Jr. or fill the blank? We are talking about prospects. I'll watch Dorticos in any fight, actually any of the ones I mentioned.

As others have said. Small population in comparison. You're comparing an island to Russia and Ukraine LOL. Not as many Cuban amateurs have had the chance to turn professional in comparison and the ones who have had to go through hell just to make it out. There are a lot of different Cuban styles that haven't had the chance to show themselves at the level.

I wouldn't even argue with the guy, he's choosing ignorance. I remember you listing a few of these prospects a few months ago. I watched all of them and they all seemed pretty intriguing. As long as they get the opportunity for big fights.

No we're not. I'm saying Cubans overall are boring my af. I'm not talking about prospects. Has dorticos even fought someone worth fighting?
