Comments Thread For: Wilder Manager Shuts Down Undisputed Showdown For Near-Term Future

As tantalizing as the prospect might be, Shelly Finkel has no plans of entertaining an undisputed title bout anytime soon for his client Deontay Wilder.

I’m not an AJ fan but I agree with finkel that AJ is good for boxing. He did conduct himself as a gentleman and unlike wilder he took his losses like a man

I don't know if he shut it down as much as acknowledged that Usyk/Joshua have a contractual rematch that has to occur next once Joshua activates the clause.

Wilder wanted to fight Ruiz if he had defeated A.J in the rematch for undisputed and they had it all planned then had no real excuses not to fight A.J but they made them anyway . These guys do not want to fight A.J that is clear even in these comments . Finkle knows that was a bad look before and now making a second mistake saying he wants Wilder in undisputed should either Usyk or A.J win puts Wilder in a tough position,I don’t think he defeats either ,both represent problems for him if he somehow gets by Fury .

As opposed to AJ's opponents who has defeated him; Tyson Fury is as shady and dodgy as they come. First of all, not only is he a confirmed juicer and steroid cheat but he is also full of lies, deception and subterfuge. Both of the guys who defeated AJ; Ruiz and Usyk should be commended for their efforts because they won their fights fair and square. They didn't take shortcuts or cut corners in order to do so unlike Tyson Fury with those flappy, deflated, tampered and custom-made boxing gloves of his.

I think Usyk is gonna beat AJ again. Same goes for Fury.

Did you happen to read beyond the titillating headline?

Finkle just ain't as ****** as Hearn/Joshua were trying to fight Fury who was entangled in a contractual rematch clause. They do not want to be in the same situation because they know Usyk is bound in a rematch clause. The question was specifically if they wanted Joshua/Usyk next immediately in the next fight. That cannot happen. Also, the winner of Wilder/Fury will probably have to fight a mandatory next (not sure how Whyte will become mandatory after fight Walin).

If not mandatory, Wilder may like to fight Ruiz next as it generates money locally in the US. But there are a lot of ifs and buts with planning so far ahead. Wilder is 36 and should want to make big fights in the future before retiring.

This says it all. What a joke this all is haha

in what universe would you prevent an undisputed fight at Heavyweight? If one guy loses so what? You can have a trilogy maybe. Some weird ulterior motive going on?

AJ has a better chance to beat Usyk than Wilder has beating Fury. That says a lot.
