Comments Thread For: Arum: Joshua Should Avoid Immediate Rematch, Allow Usyk To Face Fury-Wilder Winner

Not a bad idea from Bob

may not suit Usyk though, depending what his % is in the rematch. Would he make more in a unification with Fury? - I think that’s a huge fight now, so maybe, depending on what he agreed to for the AJ rematch clause. Everyone is currently talking about Fury v Usyk, so it’s big.

It would suit AJ, he could have some confidence building fights.

Probably suits Fury because if AJ wins a few easy fights, it would build that fight back up a bit from where it is right now.

And obviously good for the fans to see the real number 1 and 2 in a unification.

Usyk didn't dominate the fight despite how it looked in the 12th. Joshua could turn it around by simply landing a few more jabs, tying Usyk up inside and conserving some energy for late. If he isn't ready for a rematch in about 6 months he probably never will be.

He’d better ****** not to take the rematch with how Fury and Wilder have messed him around the last 3 yrs. Even if he’s going to get killed - he has to take the rematch and make the winner of Fury/Wilder fight a mandatory in December.

He got outclassed and outboxed for majority of the fight, a whole lot of what Joshua should have done and didnt do and not alot of what Usyk didnt allow him to do... when you get a superior elite level boxer mover infront of you, there movement always has you second guessing and hesitating fearing being countered, combine that with a suspect chin and being mentally scarred of being ko'd again, will always hold Joshua back from going for broke. It didnt happen saturday night and wont happen in rematch. Usyk will be more dominant with a greater chance of getting a stoppage victory next time around

I’m with Roy Jones: a Fury-Usyk fight would be horrible. The fact of the matter is for all of his mouth, Fury is only worth watching when he’s facing an A-side levell opponent in terms of drawing interest and having some charisma. Usyk has no real charisma - instead of starting to hype up the rematch after beating Joshua, Usyk said he wasn’t thinking about it and just wanted to go home and water his apple trees. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse major fight than Fury-Klitschko, but Fury-Usyk might outdo it for boredom.
