Comments Thread For: Joshua: I Believe I'll Get A Good Win In Next Fight With Usyk Because Of What I Learned

Anthony Joshua isn't the least bit concerned about whether he'll assume an unfamiliar role of underdog when he fights Oleksandr Usyk again. The former IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion is focused much more on applying the lessons that he learned from his 12-round, unanimous-decision defeat to Usyk

Sack Rob Mc-crappen first up. Why didn't they change it up when the terrible strategy of trying to box usyk failed? Could hear them yelling "brilliant aj" from the corner when aj would punch usyks glove. Needed to tell him to press for a KO or go down trying.

The problem he's got isn't solving the Usyk he faced at the weekend. That would be tough enough, though even I can see very clear things that worked and didn't work.

His problem is that Usyk is a master at solving problems during fights. It's also what Joshua doesn't seem to do too well. He made adjustments on Saturday and Usyk just stepped up a gear and brought the fight home.

I'll watch though. And I hope he can do it. If he does, then fair play to him.

I wondered mid-fight how much of the shouting was an attempt to sway the judges in the closer earlier rounds. "Rob Mc-Crappen" is a bit harsh though mate he's masterminded many a world title and olympic gold.

AJ's best moments came from lead rights or body work. McCracken in the corner - "get behind the jab". FFS

Usyk wasn't staying out of range. He was sliding aside from the jab. He spent most of the fight in range.

McCracken also talked about Usyk's counter punching. Counter punching wasn't half of the problem. He was hitting him with lead lefts at will. Usyk bounced around in range, closed distance constantly, and was the aggressor.

McCracken knew Joshua would fold if he took it to Usyk ...it would have been extremely embarrassing had he pressed usyk any harder than he did

Just look at the 12th when he tried to open up.. at least cracken gets another pay day...if Joshua got flattened like he should have that wouldn't be happening

Joshua has done very well for a guy with limited boxing skill. He has good punching power, and he beat Wladimir and Whyte. Other than them though, who has he really impressed against?

He was very fortunate to get the gold medal as well, but not saying he's bad or anything. He's made so much money, he doesn't have to fight again, but still young and can fight for a few more years.
