Why do people keep debating this Usyk vs Holyfield fantasy fight?

Stop debating and let's see it! They both just fought recently. Strike while the iron is hot! Interest in that matchup is literally at an all time high right now. This is what's wrong with Boxing, they are always marinating the fights instead of just making them!

True. Would be a great name to add to Usyk's resume

People paid for Mayweather-Pacquiao 10 years too late. It wasn't as bad as this would be but still, same idea. It's just "smart business" to wait until Holyfield is 200 years old so he has "name recognition" to maximize PPV buys. Work smarter not harder!

Could put Duran vs Canelo and Joyce vs Holmes on the same card. Man, what a blockbuster!

Hilarious. Give Usyk some time to show us what he is made of. My early prediction is that he is legit but not on a Holyfield level. Keep in mind he is already 34

Why not just put Canelo vs Usyk? Can you imagine how big a star Canelo could become, and how much money he could generate, if he had a scripted fight vs Usyk, like (in my opinion) vs Kovalev, and became undisputed heavyweight champion? Or better yet, vs Deontay Wilder after Wilder "knocks out" Usyk? That's an America vs Mexico PPV, like Floyd Mayweather vs Oscar De La Hoya, and Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo, two of the biggest selling PPVs of all time. And you can sell it because Deontay Wilder doesn't have Canelo's skills, right? So who is to really say that Wilder could hit Canelo even once, I mean, theoretically? And it's like they're always saying on TV, guys like Gervonta Davis, even if he was fighting at heavyweight, he would still carry his power. "Punchers are born not made" etc. So if 130 lbs Gervonta Davis is a power puncher at heavyweight, as he proved knocking out Leo Santa Cruz at 130 lbs in the sixth round (he let him get to the sixth because he needed the rounds. Similar to GGG needing to go rounds v Danny Jacobs etc), then surely Canelo Alvarez is also a power puncher at heavyweight!

So theoretically, Canelo could counterpunch Wilder a few times in the 1st round, and theoretically it could then be explained that Wilder became gunshy and afraid of the power, and then Wilder could fight the rest of the fight like Kovalev, just pitter patting like Paulie Malignaggi over Canelo's head as he bobs and weaves. Maybe get the commentators to say, "well we could never have predicted this, but when you think about it, Deontay Wilder is just not used to punching at someone so short. It's hard to punch downwards at an angle like that. And who can you get to replicate Canelo in sparring? No one." Just like Conor Mcgregor against Floyd Mayweather "didn't know how to punch in boxing gloves" as opposed to MMA gloves and that was the explanation why he went from a big puncher vs light heavyweights in MMA to a feather fisted guy vs an old small Mayweather.

Same thing could make real bank here. Canelo UD undisputed heavyweight champion. Just picture it in your mind! Feel how the words sound as you imagine them. Imagine the money that could be made off of that, for everyone involved. That's absolutely working smarter, not harder.

I definitely expect him to lose soon. I'm su****ious the rematch either doesnt happen immediately after all, or Joshua wins it, because if Joshua loses twice in a row to Usyk, what happens to Joshua's career? I mean maybe he could comeback and still sell out stadiums, and just say this was a bad style for me, but I wouldn't bet on it. And if Joshua doesn't beat Usyk then I think WIlder will. One of the two. I just dont see the two most marketable heavyweights losing to Usyk before fighting each other. But it's not impossible either. Maybe I underestimate just how much money Usyk can generate in Ukraine and Russia (or Germany), i.e., the Klitschkos.

One thing is for sure. Usyk fans celebrating now are very premature. Because of the one-way rematch clause, Usyk vs Joshua started out at -1. So he didn't actually win yet. He just went from -1 back to 0. They are on even footing now, 50/50. Whoever wins the rematch is the winner. Usyk has not won the rematch yet, so it's almost the same as if he has not beaten Joshua yet at all.

So if Usyk has not beaten Joshua, why are people celebrating that Uysk beat Joshua? If you get my point. He really didn't yet. Now if he wins the rematch, suddenly he beat him twice, so then you can count the first one also. But if not, it's like he didn't beat him at all. In fact, the most recent memory will be that he lost to him, and his championship status will reflect that. They might be 1-1 on paper but Joshua will be champion and he will not be.
