AJ just isn't a top tier boxer and never will be. His whole career has been built around cherry picking guys, and fighting geriatric "has beens" in need of a final pay check. While avoiding top 2 in division. His belts were literally bought for him by Eddie Hearn.

Comments Thread For: Usyk Stamps His Greatness With Impressive Win Over Joshua

Well, I am thinking we are all overreacting a bit.
- Usyk is in no hurry to declare greatness and hang up his gloves, and probably views this fight as a start of his few years in Heavyweight, rather than the peak.
- So, AJ 2 and maybe AJ 3, Fury/Wilder (also with rematch clauses), possibly smaller bouts with Joice, Ruiz, etc.
- It is possible some of the CWs or completely new guys are encouraged by what they saw from Usyk and decide that heavyweight is up for disruption, and move up as well.
- For Usyk, just go until it goes, add to the resume, collect paychecks.
What the fight did - answered definitively the question whether Usyk is a legitimate heavyweight. Looks like he is. So, no one will be overlooking him anymore, and he is not a C side in the negotiations anymore. If he manages to get one or two more wins, he will probably be seen as A side.
Whether he will be able to clean up the division as thoroughly as he did in the CW - remains to be seen, it is definitely a possibility.
Let's sit back and enjoy the Ukrainian's run. He's an inspiration for a lot of ppl.
