Everyone can't be a yes-man and sometimes someone has to say the bitter truth. Especially amongst his loyal fans who have been supporting him from his amateur days.
1. You can't be taking all the risky fights in the division and difficult styles as a professional boxer whilst being stuck in an amateur setting in Sheffield. Team GB boxing institute in Sheffield isn't known for producing great amateur talents to begin with and none of his trainers have been at this level with great boxers - why stay there? Loyalty shouldn't overshadow common sense. I know he feels comfortable there but you're in the hurt business and comfort is the last thing you need when preparing to get in the ring with elite boxers. I'm not a Fury fan (will never be) but one thing about him is that he knows his limitations and he wouldn't mind changing his trainers if need be.
2. I don't think AJ has found himself and he knows who he's. I'm colour blind but a classic example is how one minute he wants to be pro-black (which infuriates a section of the white demographic) - the next minute he's mostly surrounded by white people whilst enriching them in the process and that also infuriates a section of the black population. One minute he thinks he's Al Pacino trying to follow street codes and the next minute he's a clean cut guy in a business suit. At 32, you ought to know who you're and that's also evident in the way he boxes sometimes due to overthinking things and being confused in realtime.
3. He screams loyalty but apart from Rob, none of these guys he acts loyal to give a monkey about him. Hearn would sell his mum for a quick quid and I've always said he doesn't care about AJ. Arum and Al would've put in a fix yesterday for the judges to call that fight a draw (we've seen worse robberies in boxing) with what's at stake. But in true Teflon Hearn fashion yesterday - I'm sure all he was thinking about is a rematch. He also said snide things about AJ yesterday after the fight that a promoter shouldn't say(he did the same thing after the 1st Ruiz fight). Yet this guy announced that he signed a life contract with the same guy. I don't know the content of the contract but the connotation about "life contract" alone is troubling and it's not a good omen for young/aspiring boxers. Only ****** sign life contracts.
The likes of Steve Bunce and Adam Smith have never liked him and they're both loyal Fury fans...but this guy talks about loyalty. Loyalty is a 2-way street and you always have to cater to yourself first.
4. Boxing is about 60% mental and you have to be mentally dedicated to be an all time great. It's not just about sharpening your physical tools - your warrior mindset has to be switched on at all times. All the laughing and nice guy posturing don't help against a guy trying to take off your head. If he's ever going to be an ATG - he needs the fire and mean streak that got him this far again. The nonsense he started pre-Ruiz fight has to go. Boxing isn't a gentleman's sport - it's a gladiator sport.

Way forward:
1. Leave the UK and move to the US to train with an experienced American trainer. He has great attributes - he just needs a change of environment and someone who can make him a finished article. Lennox did the same thing and he became better for it. Rob, Joby and Angel are amateur coaches. Buddy McGirt would do a great job with AJ.
2. Time for him to find himself and stop being confused in and out of the ring. Take a stance and stay there.
3. Fffck loyalty - you have to put yourself first, no one gives a fffck about you, they only care about what they benefit from your presence.
4. Nice guys always finish last in a gladiator sport.
If he can't make these changes - it's time for him to retire. He's already a HoFer and people who achieved less got in. And he has definitely made shiiitload of money. As for me, I won't stop being a superfan and I still believe he beats Fury and Wilder.
