I don't think so they have had good success together and have shown they can come back. It wasn't pretty but it was a smart strategy in the Ruiz rematch.
I think AJ is improving.
The thing is if he was less gunshy he'd be even more vulnerable and prone to gassing.
Nothing is going to fix his chin. This is his biggest flaw. Not the robotic style, not his endurance, and not his trainer. All his losses and mediocrities stem from the fact that he knows that he cannot take punches that come fast and with angles.
That’s why he didn’t take chances tonight. That’s why he didn’t rag doll Usyk like he should’ve.
and now they are saying he has a broken orbital, so he's now the HW version of Brook + Khan combined. It's like a kid's cartoon, where Brook and Khan physically join becoming the giant Joshua, but for all the wrong qualities.
If it wasn't obvious from Joshua doing the stanky leg in almost all his matches, it became glaringly obvious in the Ruiz rematch, an obese Mexican who didn't even bother training, and Joshua was still terrified anytime they traded. Joshua ran and fought scared in the rematch, but brainwashed Hearniacs thought it was a brilliant strategic boxing display lol
Yes, been saying he's needed a new trainer for a long ass time.
Dude comes in with bad plans and makes them work more often than not because he's strong and tough enough to. Joshua's not really a bad fighter, he does what his trainer asks of him. McCracken has been holding him back.
That said, there's no shame in losing to a better man, I wouldn't make a change because Usyk is better, I'd make the change because Joshua is better than McCracken trains him to be. Joshua still has plenty of potential.
