Good chance we don’t see an IMMEDIATE rematch unless Eddie presses it for some reason. This is different from Ruiz in many ways - not the least of which is Eddie promotes both fighters and an immediate return thorough defeat will end Joshua’s career as a marquee nameLast edited by VislorTurlough; 09-25-2021, 08:06 PM.Comment

I have said it all along, Joshua is overrated, all his fans just would say I'm a hater, but it's just my take on a fighter. I respect all fighters, and no fighters are bums, When I call Joshua overrated, I'm basing that on his fights nothing more, nothing less, Joshua beat an older Klitschko, and all his fame from that, he really never beat anyone on the top tier, but to be fair, until recently the HW division was not at it's best, when he fought Andy I had posted that I believed Ruiz would give him Fitz, people laughed and the rest is history, in the rematch, let's get it straight, a focused, in shape Ruiz would have beat him again, by unfortunately Ruiz decided to piss it all away, and after that I commented that what does it say about Joshua if he couldn't take out Ruiz with him being so out of shape, well finally tonight we found out, Joshua is decent, but not top tier, and other top HW will beat just like Usyk. Hat's off to Usyk, my concern with him was his size, but he proved that he can hang with the big boys, his boxing skills for a big man, is the best North of 175.Comment

I think it's a no brainer to take the rematch and retire if he loses it. Who's he going to fight in the meantime? And what just hope he gets another title shot soon after (if) he wins? Never going to happen. Only way is by releasing Usyk with guaranteed shot at the winner can i see that happening. He's not going to take another fight and risk the belts being split up or having to wait a couple of years for another shot and then having terms dictated to him. Seems more likely he'd retire than let that happen
He was well beaten though. Usyk was more skilled, faster, had more heart, better cardio and a better chin.
If you're trying to find hope for AJ, it's that he started far too slowly, got his tactics completely wrong and did the eye injury discourage him? So there's things to change. I think Usyk just has his number thoughLast edited by diarraisagod; 09-25-2021, 08:36 PM.Comment

None of the heavyweights are dominant. They are not that good and have flaws. Anyone of the top heavyweights can lose on any given night - Wilder, Fury, Joshua, etc.. There is nowhere for Joshua to go.....he needs to take the rematch immediately. He's not going to get any better, just worse. He doesn't need to risk losing another fight. There is money in a rematch - almost 70K was in attendance for this fight. Perhaps instead of trying to outbox Usyk, Joshua should try to impose his will and power.....to try to KO Usyk. There is no need to avoid the rematch.Comment

That was the best Usyk I’ve seen last night! Only seen the fights with Bredis,Chisora and Bellew previously and didn’t really understand what the fuss was about.
I’m guessing he boxed like this against Gassiev?
Unlucky AJ, you let him get into his rhythm too early, taking the fight to him like Chisora is clearly your only chance!Comment

AJ was clueless from the first round. Was the fight plan really to outbox a slick cruiser boxer?Comment

Aj can not handle speed, it was speed that ruiz beat him with and speed that usyk beat him with. Aj has no confidence in his own chin at all, any harf decent punch that connects wobbles him, so when he faces a faster fighter such as usyk, he carnt go guns blazing, because he knows he will get caught, because of the speed, he knows his chin is crap. Well done usyk what a great boxer you are God bless you champ.Comment
