One more loss for aj or wilder n theyre fighting hrgovic n yoka as measure sticks in 2 yrs

      • I called this result a few days ago ... knew AJ would be in trouble if Usyk came in confident (and HE DID). Not much room for the hearniacs crowd to say much after this. LOL @ all the Wilder hate after the Fury fight .... here comes your dose ...

After these losses to Ruiz and Usyk there is no way in HADES that AJ will ever fight Wilder. AJ is the type of fighter who likes to hang around mid range and jab around, perfect opponent for Wilder. Wilder would end his career at this point I believe.
It’s why negotiations went on so long, Hearn was adamant on having one or the title would get dropped

Usyk won more rounds than it looked. Some of his subtler work was not easy to score. The Ukrainian judge, who had Usyk ahead five points, was the most correct IMHO.

He was signed with matchroom until the Chisora fight. He didn’t resign.

              • AJ doesn't have a proper jab. What kind of trainers was in his corners? He used a potent jab once, and it had usyk's head going backward. Wilder and Fury will kill this dude.

                  • What I feared is exactly what happened - A.J fought Usyk largely on his terms: he tried to outbox Usyk, and at times he seemed to match him, but he also looked similar in the eyes to when he fought Ruiz - he looked ponderous and concerned, while Usyk was laser-focused.

A.J needed to let his hands go at least some of the time, and the few times he did he met with some success. his punches lacked the snap, he lacked the ferociousness' needed to trouble Usyk.

I really wonder if A.J has the 'mongrel' in him to beat Usyk.

I still think A.J is a world-class fighter - but tonight he lacked the grit and aggression needed.

Usyk is a terrific boxer, his upper body movement, almost constant footwork, feints, and combination punching proves he is the all-around boxer he has been lauded to be.

I will never subscribe to DAZN again, as I tried to do my bit and sign up, only for the app to lock me out, send me down blind alleys, slow response time - I spent 45 minutes just trying to stream the fight.

Thank f^*k for those people who uploaded the fight straight away.

The big question now is: Does Joshua have the necessary determination to do what needs to be done in the rematch? Ironically, it will be the reverse of the Ruiz Jr fights.

He has to come back as a puncher-boxer, pressure fighter, who throws combinations.

                    • Interested on what AJs is lab will actually be for the second fight. I get that he ‘got that wrong’ but it looked to me like he was being calculated in his approach because me knew he’d get countered badly and gas out if he went full tilt early. So if his plan is to come out in the rematch and try and wrestle and throw a lot more power punches - I sort of fell like that’s what Usyk was expecting this time round. Can’t see him winning a rematch. Unless Usyk goes full Leon Spinks from this day til fight day - hell struggle.
