  • Comments Thread For: Usyk: I'm Looking Forward To The Victory, I've Put in The Work and Effort

There are few places Oleksandr Usyk likes to come more than Britain, which is hardly a surprise considering the amount of success he has had on these shores. Stretching back to 2008, bit things have happened for Usyk in the UK and he hopes that Saturday night will top the lot.

Usyk will definitely get the victory, can't imagine someone with a moustache that awesome not being a winner.

Joshua is going down in 5.

is this the first time 2 Olympic Champions from the same year go at it for a world title?

I get the feeling AJ is underestimating Usyk

Joshua most definitely underestimating Usyk - I see it going to the scorecards in Joshua's favor but actually Usyk winning...

I am surprised by the amount of love Usyk is getting in these threads. Figured I would be on an island in saying the man can win this. Usyk will come to win. He and his team have to understand that they cannot afford to play it safe against Joshua. They have to have a plan that plays to Usyk strengths and trust his defense, because otherwise Joshua will win just jabbing at him from a distance and commanding the ring. But Usyk can fight from angles and use movement to prevent clean shots from the stronger, more dangerous Joshua.

This has a chance to be a great fight and a have a fantastic finish.

Funny how this fight is different. Klitschko's opponents would eat and gain weight to fight him and had slow movement. Now Joshua is trimming down for Usyk in order to speed up.
Joshua might find lack of energy from doing that in the later rounds. That's the downside of being too light. But Joshua does have quite a size advantage still. Usyk would be smart to take it into the later rounds.

The problem is Joshua isn't a tall fighter. For someone with such a massive reach, he fights notoriously short. The jab and style seems the obvious road to success and I can imagine someone like Wlad trying a similar thing. Trouble is though, Usyk was apparently a nightmare for Wlad in sparring and Joshua hasn't really had enough time to acclimatise use of the jab and clinch isn't much to write home about.

I'm personally getting butterflies thinking about this fight, hasn't been a bout that seems as evenly matched going in since Fury Wilder 1.

God I hope Usyk wins … really want to shuffle feathers at the HW

Plus Im Ukrainian, Loma losing to Teo was tough and Wlad losing his last two fights were tough.

Lets go Usyk - bring the belts back to Ukraine

Can't wait for this, I'm a big AJ fan and this isn't guna be easy at all. Usyk is by far the most clever fighter AJ has faced and Joshua seems to of turned into a real trap laying fighter and I'm not sure Usyk is guna fall for for much easily.

I can see it being Joshua having to drop plans A and B and just reacting to what Usyk does.

                    It's guna be good.
