Canelo is too smart in the ring at this point to let his emotions get the best of him in the ring. At least that’s the way I see it. At the same time, he’s human like all of us. Canelo can be defeated.

He doesn't. This little storm-in-a-teacup episode has just upped the PPV buys by 100K or so - meaning one/two million more bucks in Caleb's bank account.

Yeah, if anyone could have gotten into Canelo's head, it would have been GGG but even with all the emotion there, Canelo fought in a contained and precise and controlled manner. I'm not sure after all the fights Canelo has had that anyone can get into his head to the point of affecting his game in the ring.

Really great post. I totally agree in that there's not much to dislike about Alvarez – he's a savage puncher, excellent skills, head movement, all the fundamentals in place, and he's improved tonloads since getting wobbled by Jose Cotto as a pup. One of the most fun fighters to watch today.

But he's a proven cheater – two positive tests and a suspension. Inexecusable. Fuck him. I hope Plant wins.
