Canelo never fought in his current style until Golovkin II.....I suspect that after that "loss" in the first Golovkin fight is when he started taking illegal substances. A loss in the wide public's opinion will drive a guy to do these type of things. I betcha I'm right

The way Canelo fought in the second GGG fight was the way he normally fights. The first GGG, which I agree he should have lost, was the anomaly. It was a close competitive fight, but GGG (who is special) just worked him with that jab. Canelo's pride, not drugs, gave him the resolve to go after GGG in the second fight. Canelo's a smart tactician so he's not just going to go at every opponent the same (he was cautious with Kovalev for a while), but there are few fighters who have shown his level of guts and confidence in the ring.

Every athlete at the top level where serious money is being made is using all the substances they can to get an advantage. That's the truth in all of prize sports, someone testing positive is a knock on the responsible person in his team, not on the athlete unless he took the substance without consulting an expert in his team. It's not the athlete's job to analyze what he's taking and to check if it's legal or not, that's his team's job. The fighter should be able to trust his team and follow their advice.

What's ****ed up however, is that no fighter was forced to tell on who suggested the substance for them or who's responsible, they immediately go on the defensive and make excuses and get a slap on the wrist. But this never helps the reputation the athlete themselves lost nor to find out who's distributing the stuff which doesn't help.

Either way, Canelo is going to be too much for Plant to deal with and will win clearly, but the way PEDs are handled in the sport is not good.

conte has history as well with peds.

They all do, however some are better than others at using substances that aren't banned/detectable and at how to intelligently cycle the substances in a way where the athlete doesn't get caught. Conte has decades of experience on this, Canelo's team doesn't seem to have that expertise yet.

That or Canelo and Valdez just went out and scored some stuff and took it on their own without any consultation which isn't plausible at that level.

False, Canelo always was a counter puncher tactician, and he developed in the art of cut the ring, now he is an excellent pressure fighter, with smart, like Chávez.

For example, the performance of Canelo vs Lara and Billy, against Lara, Canelo did not do things like in the fight with Billy, he developed a lot in those aspects.

Now he has an unique style, a mix of Floyd and JC.Chavez.

I love Plant’s swagger - I love how he’s shaming the boxing media (which is full of sycophants anxious to pump up Canelo because they think he’s the golden goose who keeps them relevant and employed in a dying sport) and the Canelo fan boys (who are just, well, blindly gullible fan boys) . Plant’s keeping both the boxing media and fanboys from diverting attention away from the PED cloud over Canelo’s head. I love this! Clearly Plant is in there to win - not lie on the ropes for 12 rounds and get hit like a heavy bag (Callum Smith) or just do enough to be able delude himself forever that he was “competitive ” with Alvarez (like Saunders). Yeah there seems this attitude that Canelo is not only beyond reproach, but you better parrot the company line and come up with some metaphor for how Canelo will not beat Plant, but destroy him. There even seems a competition to out do each other... you see it on Youtube also... How dare anyone suggest that the mighty Ginger Canelo could be in a fight with Plant!! Lots of betas hating on Caleb Plant for no reason. Everything he said is factual and he didn't say anything about Canelo's mum either, that's just Canelo playing mind games. I don't understand why FANS get involved and all emotional over this stuff. So embarrassing.

I expect Caleb Plant to bring his A game and win some rounds and make the fight competitive, but Canelo is just too good, I think he will outscore Plant and land the better, more devastating shots.
