If Crawford can’t draw, why did Shawn Porter take the B-side cut?

Because PBC had zero interest in a joint PPV venture. That fight is going to lose a tremendous amount of money on PPV. FOX/PBC was never interested in doing a joint PPV.
Top Rank had to reach a deal or it would allow Hearn and Triller to bid and possibly secure the rights.
Crawford's contract with Top Rank still expires at the end of the year, he has NOT re-signed with them so far.Comment

PBC didn’t have interest in promoting a PPV fight involving their fighter?
Gee, sounds like Shawn Porter is a terrible draw.

Bob must not think so, or he would have had no reason to make a deal. He could have just let it go to bid and took his cutBecause PBC had zero interest in a joint PPV venture. That fight is going to lose a tremendous amount of money on PPV. FOX/PBC was never interested in doing a joint PPV.

It's technically not up to Bob, it's up to ESPN in that situation, right? I assume they are fronting the money, TR is not paying out of pocket. Maybe he wanted to save face, since Hearn and/or Triller would have likely outbid TR at purse bid.
It was Arum himself who openly complained how his company loses a lot of money on Crawford's fights. So if he loses a lot of money when Crawford fights on ESPN, how much will he lose on PPV?Comment
