A pity it's not a better matchup, like Crawford vs Ennis or Ortiz jr, but it's decent.

The Kell Brook that Spence beat was 100X better than the Kell Brook that Crawford beat! The Amir Khan that DSG beat is 100X better than the Amir Khan Crawford beat! Porter is by far, the best WW that Crawford has ever faced!

I mean, it's much better than Crawford's recent opponents and that comes with some excitement, but the truth is, porter doesn't stand a chance either. Bud will dominate and possibly stop porter.

Sources: Terence Crawford, Shawn Porter strike deal for Nov. 20 welterweight title bout
          By Mike Coppinger

Terence Crawford and Shawn Porter have struck a deal for a welterweight title fight on Nov. 20 at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay on ESPN+ PPV, multiple sources told ESPN, avoiding a purse bid that was scheduled for noon ET where the rights to the fight were slated to be auctioned off.

The pact ends weeks of negotiations between Top Rank, which promotes Crawford, and PBC, which handles Porter. The two sides rarely do business, with a pair of fights between heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder being a rare exception.

Unlike those fights, this will not be a joint pay-per-view with Fox, the network that has a deal with PBC. Top Rank will promote and lead the event in association with PBC.

Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs), the WBO welterweight champion, has one fight left on his deal with Top Rank, sources told ESPN, and could leave the promotion after this fight.

He last fought in November when he defended his title with a fourth-round TKO of faded contender Kell Brook in Las Vegas.

Porter (31-3-1, 17 KOs), a former welterweight title holder, is known for his relentless pressure style and always delivers exciting scraps.

ESPN's No. 4 welterweight, Porter will represent the toughest challenge of Crawford's career, on paper. The Omaha, Nebraska, native turns 34 later this month, and while his impressive ring work earned him the No. 2 ranking on ESPN's pound-for-pound list, it's the result of the eye test more than whom he has beaten.

Crawford's best win came in 2016, a unanimous-decision victory over former champion Viktor Postol. He has long been challenged for his lack of top-flight opposition despite his standing in the sport (he's currently No. 1 in ESPN's welterweight rankings). A convincing victory over a fighter like Porter would prove he deserves that recognition.

Welterweight titlist Terence Crawford and contender Shawn Porter have reached an agreement to fight Nov. 20 in Las Vegas on ESPN+ pay-per-view, sources told ESPN.

Didn’t Crawford go on record about his thoughts on Covid? There’s a good chance the Covid excuse could be used should it be related to not enough tickets sold or camp isn’t going right. Porter, on the other hand, had already got covid so that only leaves Crawford since he’s been been rebellious about it and doesn’t take anything about the pandemic serious.

Same fighter. Brook was shot after the Golovkin fight.

Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter set for November 20th at Mandalay Bay

Less than two hours before a scheduled purse bid, Top Rank and PBC have come to terms for WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford’s mandatory title defense against Shawn Porter. Top Rank’s Carl Moretti tells Kevin Iole that the two are officially set to meet on November 20th at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay.

ESPN reports that the fight will air on ESPN+ PPV, meaning you’ll need to purchase a subscription and then the PPV separately.

This is immediately one of the best matchups on the schedule; Crawford (37-0, 28 KO) clearly boasts pound-for-pound skills but hasn’t had a marquee fight since vacating his undisputed super lightweight title to move up to 147, while Porter (31-3-1, 17 KO) consistently gives top welterweights everything they can handle. It’s both extremely relevant to the division hierarchy and a potential knockdown, drag-out slugfest.

Both men will be coming off of lengthy layoffs. Crawford was last seen mauling Kell Brook in November, while Porter has fought just once since his 2019 Fight of the Year candidate against Errol Spence Jr., cruising past Sebastian Formella in August 2020.

We’ll let you guys know as soon as we get more details about how to watch.

Crawford beats them all--then retires. That's the way it looks. There is no Duran Leonard DLH Pryor Floyd etc. to put him in danger of losing. Porter a good guy but it would be a massive upset if it happens.
