How have we got to this stage. Real talk lads

How have we gone from having real hard bast4rds, real proud fighting men that fought regular and gave it everything like Carl Froch, Glen Johnson, Tarver, Pacquaio, Pascal, Soto and all the Mexican greats etc etc etc like throw Wlad in and countless others even if their styles were ugly or whatever they strived to fight the best and be active.
Road warriors that fought everyone and for most part at any weight.

Forget this YT rubbish its these supposed boxers fighting **** once every 2 years that I find most concerning.

We're this close to having these boxers demanding millions just to fight a gamer.

Thank you AJ, Usyk, Chocolatito, Estrada and a few others for staying active and giving us good fights vs decent comp.

These days my favourite current fighter list is nearly empty. Just an absolute bunch of divas that knock me sick.

No disrespect I am happy for him but like Maxi Hughes a world champion, Jesus ****ing Christ on a spacehopper could this sport sink any lower?
A guy who couldn't win a vacant area title, British or European title just over a year back is now parading around with a bogus world title.
This is the problem when you have 2,305 titles out there.
Now the WBC have released a ****** world title or something? They'll be handing out titles free with Happy Meals next.

It's just mirroring the way the world is.

Society has gone soft, and thus, so has boxing.

Can't and wont argue with this!

In my opinion, it's gotten worse since the rise of social media. A lot of these young fighters are being paid to fight nobodies and they emulate the success of guys like Floyd who flashes his wealth that he worked hard for. Good on him. Well earned.

Before the ushering in of the "highlight" era on social media, fighters had to FIGHT hard and make an impression on the division, the sport, THEN social media....not the backwards way it's going now. Nowadays, as long as you produce a decent highlight reel of KO's against cab drivers, social media (e.g., casual fans) will flock to you and defend you at all costs....even when you're clearly ducking competition.

So, yeah...those fights of old are in our hearts and we were lucky to witness them before everything became about "visibility" on social media. Sadly, a lot of these guys have done nothing in their careers but want to be acclaimed and respected as a multi-division champion who actually put in work over the years.

These young guys want kudos and pats on the back for doing nothing. They feel they don't have to do much because their "fans" and promoters/networks will keep them from fighting one another. I mean, would you really be bothered by what "fans" say about you ducking a guy when your fans are blindly defending you? The fans are doing the talking for them and their fight game rarely resonates when the competition gets stiffer.

Network exclusive deals with fighters and promoters had ruined the sport IMO.

I remember hearing someone talk about LeBron and KD being Nike employees and not NBA players. If you think about it, that makes sense.

        Now apply that to boxing.

Boxers used to be independent contractors. Once they became hbo, sho, DAZN, employees that was over.

Most top names now fight on a limited schedule, when the network wants them to, against a network approved opponent. Sho damn near markets Gary Russell as a once a year boxer.

The big names- Canelo, AJ, Manny, and the biggest fights have to orbit around one another to maximize profits.

Networks want KO’s from their stars in “action” fights. So the same recycled bums get prime time fights just to allow the network star to look good.

If not that, they market “ Mexican warriors” as if every Mexican is some kind of crude brawler.

Get rid of these network exclusive deals and things will get better imo.

its been down hill even before the last 2 years and the youtube fighters.

i think the top fighters, the elites, they get overpaid when they fight scrubs. the contracts with the "minimums" in them are really ***ing things up. we see crawford, GGG ect fighting these no hopper guys we never ***ing heard of before. If you are like top 3 in your division, you should not be fighting a dude most boxing fans have to google their name and never heard of them.

If you go back to early 2000s, guys were fighting each other more and not as worried about a loss. DLH, mosley, trinidad all fighting each other. Heavyweights mostly all fighting each other. ect
