If it was such a dumb question, 8 people wouldn't have voted for Holyfield you fkking retard.Comment

Triller is the bigger embarrassment. Wtf were they thinking? Belfort is a first class jerk for going after Holyfield like it was a title fight. Chavez Jr was just being his underachieving self, no surprise there.Comment

It did embarrass boxing. Junior fought the Pope Canelo Alvarez not too long ago. I think Anderson could have been a great boxer though. For the most part I don’t think mma fighters make good boxers when they switch. Vitor was willing to throw which was half the battle. Still his stance and technique were just like his mma days. Still he will try to overwhelm anyone early.Love the boxing fans' excuses. The Holyfield fight is one thing, but Silva(And Vitor for that matter) are very, very far past their own primes themselves. Anderson's struggled with losses and horrendous injuries in his own sport for 8 years and is in his mid 40s fighting since the 90s. Vitor? Same story.
The Chavez Jr. fight humiliated the sport of boxing and really took down the massive ego's of the pugilist elitists. It was glorious.Comment

The Holyfield situation should not have happened to begin with. Not so much embarrassing as it is concerning that he was allowed to even compete.
Chavez Jr on the other hand while embarrassing for him personally I don't see it as much of an embarrassment for boxing. The day of the fight I told someone that asked my opinion on the match up what my prediction was this pretty much word for word...."Chavez Jr should win given his experience and age advantage over Silva (whose best weapons in my opinion were always his kicks)...but knowing Chavez Jr he will find a way to lose the fight. He did not train during his title fights and he for sure is not going to be training now. Silva takes his training seriously so he should have a chance to win based on how quick he is able to pick up on the gist of boxing."
And that is exactly what we saw. An older fighter in Silva who knows some boxing fundamentals and came in really good shape outwork and out cardio a younger ex-champion who checked out a long time ago. That said I don't want to see Silva in there with other boxers who are younger that take training seriously because I don't care to see an older fighter against a more skilled hungry fighter.Comment
