Is Teofimo Lopez running from Lopez v Loma II the biggest duck in boxing history?

That's entirely true, as I just pointed out, the lack of a rematch clause was due to Bob Arum. He was against it. And both Lopez and Loma didn't try to get one in there. Why was Arum against it? Who knows. (Actually he said something about Eddie Hern and not wanting to be like him, but that's a pretty ridiculous reason.)
Which Loma fell for.
Their was a fix in this fight.
Look at the one scorecard that gave Loma 2 rounds that's rigged.
Unless Loma put out a 100 percent performance he was always going to lose and Bob was in won it.BaguMka likes this.

First fight wasn't close and Lopez owes Loma nothing. Loma fans need to move on. Lopez-Loma II will never happen. Loma doesn't need to redeem anything, no need for BS pride, but his choices at the elite 135 are limited, even at Top Rank.
People who like the lightweight division should demand Davis-Loma. That's the biggest fight at lightweight.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 09-11-2021, 09:37 PM.

It's clear this is a pretty even split between those who think the rematch should happen or not, but what I can't wrap my head around is how anybody could think that the first fight was a landslide, lopsided, or even a dominant performance by Lopez.
I still stand behind the fact that it was a tight competitive match *that the unanimous decision did not reflect*. I even believe that some of the commentators mentioned that same assertion and stated Lopez simply "edged it out" with some extra hustle and speed.
From what I could make out of Lopez' nonsensical rambling interview, all I could see from his demeanor on the subject was that he wanted no parts of it. Maybe that was the best Lopez we will ever see that night, and he doesn't want that tarnished just yet.
Whatever the case, I just hate to see great fights fall to the wayside because someone doesn't want to take that loss to their undefeated status.
I hope Kambosos gives him a hard time.

I want the Lopez vs Loma fight. Why? Because you know Lopez will never give Tank the opportunity, especially if he has the belts. But if Loma wins the belts, you know he'll give Tank the fight and a chance to get the belts. That's the why for me.

A true champ will defend his title against all comers rather than run off to the next weight division, unless making weight is an issue. If he was so dominant and it wasn't close then why would he not take the rematch, prove his dominance, make that $$$ on what could be the biggest fight of the year, and give the fans the epic bout they want.
The fans don't give a fcuk about Loma. He's old news and looking for a payday. He's fighting Japanese bums now.BoxingIsGreat likes this.
