Comments Thread For: Pacquiao's Trainer Would Like One More: He Should Retire On a Winning Note

Buboy Fernandez, the co-trainer and boyhood friend of eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, would like to see his fighter walk away from the sport one the back of a victory. Last month, Pacquiao suffered a twelve round decision loss to WBA welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

If he tries to fight Ugas again he will lose even worse than he did the first time.

I think Thurman would be a good final opponent. Their last fight was close, and Thurman has been out of the ring for over 2 years. It wouldn't be a guaranteed win for Pacquiao, but it wouldn't be a typical tomato can farewell fight that would tank on PPV.

Also, it's the perfect test for Thurman right now, because if he can't avenge his only loss by beating a 43 year old Pacquiao, then Thurman should retire as well.

Thurman vs ugas as for pac last fight. Danny garcia for the hard fight cause danny might be named swift but not so light on feet say like a mikey or bud. The other 3 options all winnable amir khan or brook in middle east or jake paul in usa( the size difference would add the intrigue)

The garcias, Danny or mikey. Or ugas I guess, but if Pac loses he 'd need another fight. Best a top ten WW. A under radar WW. Because Pac shouldn't be beating top 10 WWs now.
of course we expect Pac to as he's so great and expectations are high for him but realisticly, historically no.
so Pac beating any top 10 Ww is a good win, Pac s been beating recognisable names his whole career. Yes, beat a WW nobody knows name of. Yes, cherry pick the weakest top 10 WW available

Floyd beat Canelo easily. Why is there a need for a rematch? Because Pacquiao fans say so? GTFOH!!!!!!! Pac is/was, a great fighter. Some of his fans on the other hand are delusional. They always try to diminish Floyd's accomplishments. Those can never be taken from him. He earned those.

The Pac fans always try diminish Floyd s wins and Floyd fans always try embellish cw, green wins. There's nothing nel o can do to equal Floyd s win over ne!I according to Floyd fans so why stress over what Pac fans say.
but yeh rematch nel o if there is nothing nel o can do apart from beat floyd in rematch i guess? That's the only option and route open to nel o I guess according to floyd s fans.?
So Floyd is holding boxing to ransom denying nel o a rematch

Pac just retire don't F around. A loss at the end won't affect your legacy as one of the greatest in history. Most great fighters lose their last fights.

As much as I'd hate to see him get the payday, just to get this Pacquiao pesos I'm sure Amere Khon would even go to the Philippines to get ko'd.

[what utter rubbish. Floyd doesn’t have to give Canelo a rematch. He was the A side, dictated ring size, catch weight and hit him just before he gained enough experience. That’s how it goes. That’s EXACTLY what De La Hoya did to Floyd. Difference being that Floyd beat him easily. And before anyone pipes up that DLH won, again that narrative is crap. No he didn’t. He had minor success in the first few rounds but then stopped using his jab and lost conclusively. Wasn’t even close. And another thing that bugs me with casuals on sites like this - the vast, vast majority of proper fans feel privileged and like Pac and Floyd pretty much equally. They’re both all time greats and it’s been a pleasure to watch both of them. Anyone attempting to polarise it into a “you must like Floyd or Pac” argument simply isn’t a true fan and doesn’t really understand the sport. Get a life. QUOTE=hugh grant;n31082570]
