Canelo was offered the plant fight by haymon as part of a 3 fight deal in November before canelo even fought smith, but canelo declined and took less money to take 3 fights with dazn. I was watching that fight yesterday. The problem with Jose is that he punches in slow motion. If Jose can land and bust up Plant, then Canelo will have a no problem doing his normal devastating damage.

I had never watched the Truax Plant fight tbh. When Truax landing an uppercut on the ropes or threw that overhand catching Plant in the head… I think Plant is just making the best out of it while he can. Throwing shade at Reynoso gym is the best he can do tbh

Caleb Plant is a good fighter. He can absolutely give Canelo major problems. But the fact remains is... Plant could fight a fight just like Lara, and you think he'd get a decision? No way.

He won’t give Canelo problems. Plant never faced a fighter whose got that Desert Eagle counter with blazing speed. Plant gets very uncomfortable whenever he gets hit. I seen it Feigenbutz, Truax and Uzi… I keep saying it, I was gutted when Kelly got beat by Avenisyan. Kelly and Plant got the same intuition to have fun defensively but some others are just natural born fighters more than just reflex showboating. Plant doesn’t put weight in his shots. Sometimes too much speed doesn’t translate well. Floyd had natural pop but he learned that as a kid with his dad. In theory Plant should’ve dismantled Truax or Feigenbutz the way Floyd let go on Gatti…

Uzcategui is 5 inches taller than Canelo and a natural at that weight. Canelo started at welterweight and light middle. Plant is a full fledged rangey super middle in his prime with faster hands and feet…with advantages in height and reach.
