The claim that Canelo created his own 155 is another one of the made up narratives. Angulo, Lara and Kirkland were non title fights and it's not uncommon for non title fights to be a pound or two above the limit like Lara's record shows-- and it was Cotto who determined the weight for their fight. People used to claim it was impossible for him to still make 154 but he made it vs Smith and gave a solid performance.
