No. He doesn't even understand or speak Spanish.

Ortiz has a lot of potential but I don’t see him taking over the premium dates on the fight calendar any time soon.

Canelo is 31. After him I could see a guy like Ryan or Tank on those dates before Ortiz given they have bigger crowds now.

At least 5-7 years before he’d get those dates.

were this guys parents even born in mexico?
Vergil’s grandparents where born in Mexico, he’s a 2nd generation Mexican American. Boxing biggest fanbase in the US is the Mexican American fans. Vergil’s stalking his opponents style has also endured him to the Mexican people as he’s reminiscent to the great Julio Cesar Chavez.

Stop it, neither Ryan Garcia or Tank Davis have express the interest to fight the best in their division both are cherry picking their opponents not to mention ones always in trouble with the law and the other has mental issues.

            1. That isn’t true. Can they be better- yes. Ryan is back from whatever and is poised to fight Diaz. Let’s see where they go. Tank’s resume isn’t bad at all. Very early in their careers, which they are building their ability to se, to label them that way.

            2. That date will be given to the most popular fighter who draws the most, not necessarily the best matchups.

As for their problems, overcoming problems draw some fans in closer because they can relate. Not saying Ortiz will not be popular.

He projects to be like a manny or cotto- a huge star that brings big money and eyes not necessarily the cash cow that always gets the premium dates.
