I haven't heard anyone on Tanks radar as potential opponents,its amazing that his fans say how much of a draw he is,& brag about it. Yet he seems to have no direction like a rudderless boat being guided by Ellerbe & Floyd.

Most fighters at least have a direction & at least have a weightclass they want to rule by age 26. It amazes me that Tank seems content with cherrypicking for eternity,& seems like he has a million excuses,& NoBody seems to care.

I have always thought highly of his talent btw,has anyone heard anything regarding next fights?

Tank’s resume is judged by who promotes and manages him, not who he’s fought. That isn’t right.

Pedrazza when he was undefeated and Leo at 130 are quality. Barrios at 140 is good. Walsh is solid. Cuellar is solid but not great. Fonseca, Ruiz and gamboa- obviously those were look good fights that all fighters have.

Tank has 25 fights. He is the same age as Ray Leonard was when he fought Benitez in his 26th fight.

Not saying he is anywhere near Ray but it seems he’s right on track.

That said, I’m sure in the next few fights will not be Benitez or Duran level.

I think some of the denigrating of his resume is premature.

The direction seems to be trying to build him as a star in the hip hop, urban, youth culture. Ellerbee kinda laid that out.

Well what champs? The 130lb guys won’t go near him. Bob is doing the 135lb guys in house.

My guess is they bring Russell up because it’s a big fight in Maryland, or they do Rolly who somehow is ranked #1 by the wba.

I get your points, I just don’t think his resume is being fairly examined. I mean he beat Pedrazza well before Loma did and Loma was given huge credit for that.

I agree with the bolded but why do you keep mentioning Leonard Leonard went through his first 25 opponents in his first 2 years. Tank is in his 8th year as a pro. In 3 years Leonard was already a certified HOF'er by beating Benitez, Duran, Hearns, Kalule. I don't wanna go more in depth about him being lineal/undisputed because you know about that already. Case being that you can't compare Tank to Leonard. In fact, I don't think you can compare any boxers nowadays to leonard because of how difficult it is to get these ATG/HOFer fights.

I don't think he will ever be fighting a Benitez or Duran anytime soon but no point is saying it when we're just waiting.

Tank is a great little fighter but his management don't even try to hide the fact that he is being marketed and directed to make money from casuals who don't know the sport.

Personally I would love to see him settle at a weight and focus on trying to be the very best at that weight. 130, 135 or 140, win a real belt, defend that real belt and look to unify with other real belts.

What I want is for him to make a real legacy for himself and create some real sporting achievements rather than being directed in a way that doesn't cement any legacy but makes cvnts like Ellerbe and Floyd some easy money.

If you want him to have a great career, that is my point about Ray Leonard.

Tank very well could make a really strong run. I also don’t think it’s directionless. I think it’s about building his brand, offsetting the legal problems, and positioning himself as the man to fight in and around that weight.

That is why I think the Russell fight could happen.

Then when TR settles the dust at 135 whoever survives likely meets Tank big money fight since one of them want to fight oak it with Haney.
