Which fight made you a boxing fan?

For me, it was the first Tyson vs Holyfield fight.

First fight I watched that got me into the sport was Klitschko vs. Lewis. BUT, here's the story of how I fell in love with boxing. I went to college in The Bronx and wanted to be a lawyer, and since I was interested in boxing I got in touch with Joe DeGuardia who runs Star Boxing. He let me take part in the set up of the first Delvin Rodriguez-Pawel Wolak fight at the now-closed Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan. There was a mezzanine directly above the ring and during the fights, that's where I got to be. I got to watch from front row-mezzanine directly above that fight - and for anyone who remembers, what a fight! What a night, I was hooked for life

Would be the Ali comeback but not so much a fight I would say the Sugar Ray and Hagler rivalry .

Yankee Sullivan was a mid 19th century criminal chased out of Ireland across Australia and America. In America he seconded for another European who killed an American in the ring, which made him public enemy number one because America was in the middle of an anti-immigration movement.

Yankee was eventually caught by the dead rabbit gang and forced to box their leader, future senator John Morrissey, and lose. The gang was most of the audience, they had pistols ready, Yankee did what he was told.

Sullivan beat Morrissey to a bloodied pulp on the floor then before Morrissey could be counted out Yankee grabbed his **** and left the building forcing himself to be DQ'd.

I had to learn more about these people.
