Yo Jake, it's just a simple fact that guys like Marquez, Guerrero, Hatton and Maidana were fighters who were successful at lower weights and came up in weight for the money. I'd be surprised if the combined record of all of these guys at 147 is much above .500. Very good fighters at 140 and below, but if you look at their records at 147, barely average at welterweight.

Marquez knocked out Pac at 147
Guerrero beat former world champ Berto before Floyd
Hatton had a world title at 147 XD
Maidana beat the dog **** out of Broner (who was ranked p4p) at 147 in a fight where he was a heavy underdog XD

Oh and then factor in that 147 is Floyd's 4th weight class lmfao. Maidana always struggled making 140, 2 weight classes above Floyd.

Margs didn’t need to request it. He was more than willing to make the fight at the weight that was offered.

Floyd was outweighed the same way Manny was outweighed against Margs.

Margs was older and had no other mega pay days outside that fight with Pac and accepted the terms. Canelo knew Floyd wouldn’t accept the fight at any higher weight, so his youth and bravado got the best of him for saying he’d fight the fight at 151. He paid a dear price for accepting it at that weight, but it was his willing choice.

Baldomir was the bigger fighter, blowing up to 163 pounds before the fight, after weighing 147 at Friday's weigh-in. Mayweather weighed 149 pounds Saturday afternoon, after weighing 146 on Friday.

That's a damned lie. Alvarez never wanted to drop weight. Mayweather's team kept trying to force the CW and wouldn't do the fight without one. They settled on 152 because that's the lowest Canelo would go.
