Exactly. Exhibition matchups have been such a circus that a fight between two old shot fighters looked like Leonard-Hagler.

Also, the general feedback of that fight was positive. Casuals loved it, pro boxers loved it. It also sold 1.5 million PPV buys.

There was also more skills shown in the fight than any other exhibition fights.

If they were going to fight, then it should be a real prizefight, not an exhibition. But yeah, all of us get older. The fighters have to accept when their time in the ring is over.

But if they want to do exhibitions, their is an audience for that and a lucrative amount of money in that. I just don't like that, when I saw Mike Tyson taking it easy on Roy Jones, that was disappointing.

Therefore I don't like exhibitions.

The Chavez Sr and Barrera exhibition bouts proved to me that exhibition bouts don't have to be soft, pillow fisted affairs. They can be fun, action packed events when two guys are still willing to exchange. Maybe this would have been the case with Marquez/Cotto. Sadly, we won't see it. But as long as they're happy and healthy that's what really matters.
