Pac fighting at 147, basically his walk around weight, is equal to if Spence, Crawford or Ugas fought at 160. Closer to their walk around weight.

If Pac did what every other fighter does, then he would be trying to kill himself to make 135lbs and just fight guys his size there. And rehydrate to 147lbs like Castillo and Corrales did and how basically all Lightweights do.

Fighting at 147 means he will usually just fight guys who are scared to do what he does: Fight guys way bigger than him.

Pacquiao racked up a pretty damn good 147 resume considering that he was never fighting anyone his size barring Mayweather and JMM.

Pacquiao, if he wanted to, could call all boxers cowards for refusing to fight in their walk around weight. And he would not be in the wrong for saying such. But he is too humble to be that honest.

Pacquiao used to do the same thing, but his was even to a bigger extent because weight matters more the lower in divisions you go. Pacquiao used to dehydrate sometime 14lbs. So he really can't say **** about anyone.

I agree he used to rehydrate a ton. But that was the past. What about him fighting much bigger guys at 147 though? You are going to ignore that because he was once killing himself to make weight?

Trust me, I know. I know Pacquiao was coming in at almost 147lbs in his 126-130lb fights. I think a lot of fans know that.

But just like I complained about his exaggerated rehydrations in the past, I can also compliment him for doing the opposite: Fighting bigger men who have 10-20lbs on him.

It's not just the weight though, it's the reach and height! Most of Manny's opponents have both of those as significant advantages.

The guy would be 150lbs in his prime, when a fight is announced. Floyd showed off his weight on a scale once with camp even starting.

Keep in mind that vs DLH, Mayweather came in at 150lbs at the weigh in for a 154lb fight. Also remember Judah, who is small, used the full 147 limit while Mayweather came in at 146lbs. Judah rehydrated to 150lbs and Mayweather came in at the exact weigh in, 146lbs.

So yeah, Mayweather was quite the small welterweight. It was obvious, as his KO ratio at 147 was the same as Malignaggi’s. Crawford would probably have something like 157-160lbs on fight night. Crawford has power at 147. This isn’t usually something you retain if you come up in weight and are small for it.

Look at Pac. Out of 14 wins at welter or above, He has 3 stoppages. That’s a 25% KO rate. Mayweather with 13 wins at 147+ with 1 KO, that is a KO rate of 7%. That is because they are small welters.

Crawford at 147 is 5-0 with 5 KO’s. That’s because he is bigger or same size as other welters. (It also helps that he has zero fights over elite fighters).

Bottom line is, Crawford is definitely not smaller than Mayweather. It is not even close.
