Unfortunately, he did not step up the plate when legendary greatness calls.

History would have been kind to Mayweather if in his prime, he fought the guys that are of the same size as he was. I am talking about Cotto, plastered Marga, Mosley, Williams, Maravilla. This would have been Mayweather's Morales, Barrera, JMM if you compare to Pac's career.

Instead, he fought a ballooned 140 pounder hatton at 147 pounds which is still impressive considering Hatton was king in 140 but still is short of the legendary greatness that he was supposed to have.

lmaooo but none of those guys you named were his size.

Ive been watching boxing since the Pryor Arguello fight in 82...so 39 years and thousands and thousands of fights.

MP has been in the spotlight since 2002..so he has been at the top for two decades. We all know how great he is.

Now, I wish he would just go away, Ive had enough.

Does Pacquiao have the most delusional fan base? You should say it wouldn’t matter to you.

He’s never been voted best of his era by any media outlet. He’s always #2 behind Floyd.

If this is the end of his career, how about you mark it by having the humility to be honest when you post.

There is no shame in being 2nd to Floyd. Why you and others like you treat it like it is something shameful by always lying is sad.

Lol stop it. People barely talk about Pacquiao today. Floyd is the most popular fighter and it isn’t even close. Pacquiao fought in more catchweights, been knocked out more times, fought more fighters coming off losses, and fought for more vacant titles than Floyd. It’s not even close anymore.

If you’re a real fan of the sport, regardless if you like or dislike Manny, you don’t want to see any great boxer go out poorly.

Why would anyone want Manny to be like Hearns, Ali, Louis etc? If this is his last fight then he went out with a few bumps and bruises but his mental faculties and speech are not damaged beyond repair.

Give him a fight in the Philippines against someone he can beat ( Ghost) that will not really damage him and allow him and his real fans one last hurrah.

Then he can retire and do the more important work he talked about.

For all he’s provided fans he deserves that as a proper send off.

Father Time eventually wins. Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and other all time greats were losing and sometimes getting beaten up by ordinary fighters(not even elite champions) in their late 30's. This is especially true for fighters at the welterweight division and below where speed and endurance declines a lot faster and is more important than strength and power alone.

It is remarkable that Pacquiao still was able to win a welterweight championship at 40 y.o. against an elite fighter like Thurman who was an undefeated champion before he faced Pac but eventually his age won't allow him to keep up against the top boxers in his division 2 years later and it finally showed last Saturday.
