LOL at Manny fans now painting Ugas as some killer. Ugas is still a C level fighter. He had a good night against porter and still lost. Ugas is not a top WW, it’s just that Pac is not even an average fighter anymore. He’s old, he stuck around too long. Ugas is still a Josh Clottey clone, maybe even below that, Manny has just fallen that much.
No shame in getting old. He lost to a C fighter, Ugas is 35 and is almost done too.Comment

No, he'll retire before he does that. If he can no longer compete on an elite level then he won't make any money. He'll become a pure mercenary fighter like Roberto Duran was before he retired. He has a lot more honor and dignity than that.Comment

Sometimes old guys look shot 1 fight and look good the next
I'd like to see him look bad 2 straight before forcing him to retire
Like ali, Ali didn't retire after Holmes, but he did after Berbick beat him too
Maybe it's ugas style
Maybe it's the 2 yr layoff
Magbe it's the last minute opponent change
Who knows?
Throw him in there with another good fighter and let's seeComment

I'd like to see pac vs Crawford or spence still

Terence Crawford gives no fcks.
He fought a washed up Kell Brook and Amir Khan, who were no longer ranked in the top 10 of any weight class when he fought them.
You really think he would turn down a fight vs an old Pacquiao who is ranked #5 at 147 by The Ring? He has fought much worse.
Let's not act like Crawford has a history of fighting killers and looking for the best fights. He did that once in his career, when he gave the fans the fight they were asking for in Viktor Postol. Otherwise he usually looks for the worst possible fight he can make.
The guy is ranked #2 at 147 and #3 P4P. Look at the other 9 welterweights. Name one of those welterweights he has fought.
Remember when Mayweather and Pacquiao were interchangeably #1 at 147 and actually had wins over some of the other top 10 WW's? Ah, the good old days.
That is no longer a thing for the media. Catapult fighters to the top spot without them even having 1 win over the top fighters of the weight class they are at the top of.
Terence Crawford is at the top of 147 on the strength of his wins over Jeff Horn and Kavaliouskas. Kavaliouskas was briefly there in the bottom 7-10 by default from other fighters falling off or retiring. Horn was only briefly there due to his robbery win over Pacquiao. But hey, Crawford can say he beat the man who beat the man even though, in reality, Horn was holding on for dear life for the bottom 7-10 spots of 147 even with his "win" over Pacquiao.Comment

Man how can you be a Pac fan and want to see him fight another good fighter. I like pac and even though i'll make fun of his crazy stans for losing to Ugas, it was sad seeing him be a shell of his former self. i don't want to see him getting brutalized by Spence or Bud, fighters i know pac would've beaten 10 years ago.
But Morales, Mayweather, Ugas. Three fights he clearly lost imo, he had an excuse for all 3. He never just admitted defeat. Socks and blood testing for Morales. Telling NSAC about a shoulder injury last minute, which NSAC was notified on the night of the fight at 6:30pm, vs Mayweather, and supposedly was aggravated in round 2. And now legs tightening vs Ugas.
Even his early KO losses come with attached excuses of being green and malnurtured. Which to be fair, makes sense. Clearly, as Pacquiao did vastly improved over the years after those KO's and moving up in weight class.
It just appears that, for one reason or the other, all 8 of Pacquiao's losses come with an excuse. And yes, I do think out of those 8, two should have been given to him. I also felt that he narrowly was defeated by Ugas, 7 rounds to 5. But it was a clear defeat. What I mean by that is, that Ugas definitely won at least 7 clearly. And one can definitely find 8 for Ugas. But it would be difficult to find 6 or more rounds for Pacquiao. I feel like only 5 rounds could be given to Pacquiao and make a sensible argument for those 5 rounds. If 6+ rounds were given to Pacquiao, that would have been a robbery imo. As a biased viewer, who was rooting for Pacquiao to win, I gave Pacquiao the most rounds I can possibly give him while making sense as to why I gave it to him.Comment
