The fact of the matter is that if the venue was anywhere outside of AC, then Floyd would have signed weeks ago. Gatti and Main Events should have found a suitable neutral venue (MSG, Mohegan Sun, etc) and the fight would have been easy to make. By insisting on the Atlantic Gatti Convention Center, Main Events ensured that the fight WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Why do you think Hopkins fought Eastman in LA versus Philly? WAKE UP KIDS!!!!
Gatti won't Fight Floyd, EVER!!!

No the real fact of the matter is everybody involved had to sit around and wait for Floyd to straighten out his legal issues. Once all that was cleared, everybody had to sit and wait for Floyd to sign, but he did not get the split he wanted. Mayweather was not in a position to bargain the split here, but still attempted too. The venue was never an issue, so you can get off of that subject. The only issue here was Gatti and Main Events had to sit around and wait for Floyd, and they finally got tired of him and Top Rank.Comment

Because the Staples Center offered more money then the other venues to stage the bout in their arena.
It's obvious that either you know more then Floyd himself or Floyd must be lying in every single interview that he has done to date on the fight where he said that there were no problems other then money. The judges should have no meaning on this fight as Floyd said Gatti would never make it past 8 rounds.
To say Floyd backed out because of venue makes him look like a coward and makes Judah look like Superman for taking chump change to fight Spinks in his hometown.Comment

Rick, I'll spot you that one, Judah does look like Superman right now for going to the Show-Me State and whippin' Spinks, but that doesn't mean that he would have gotten a fair nod if it went to the cards, he had to win by KO and he took care of business, but Floyd is a 12 round fighter and he needs all of the love from the judges that he can get....why do you think he challenged Castillo on 4:20 in Vegas, instead of in LA or Mexico? Judges, economics, etc.Originally posted by Rick ReenoBecause the Staples Center offered more money then the other venues to stage the bout in their arena.

Because Vegas outbid the other venues to stage the fight. Also, Arum promotes both Castillo and Mayweather. At the time, LA was a ghost town for boxing and even Mexican fighters barely stage big bouts in Mexico. Right now a fight has to either be in NY, LA, Vegas or AC to ensure both fighters make the best possible amount of money.Comment

Seems like you're praising Floyd, yet at the same time kinda downgrading him by implying he's a coward with no guts and heart and have no self confident to fight Gatti, who by the way holds the WBC belt and the main ticket seller, on his backyard.
