There’s video of Roach saying he doesn’t like that fight for pac and then pacs ridiculous 40 mil guarantee request is all the proof we need. Especially when his guarantee to face Spence was only going to be 5 mil.
But don't you think it's a little bit to do with people saying buds the best so pay Pac the money to take the risk to fight the best. Because more than likely if Pac beats bud people will say "actually it's spence who was the best"?
So the 40m is more like compensation for when people backtrack

Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter “likely” headed to purse bid

Top Rank may have avoided a purse bid between Jamel Herring and Shakur Stevenson, but this one looks trickier. Both Dan Rafael and Keith Idec report that the WBO-mandated title fight between welterweight champion Terence Crawford and top contender will “likely” head to an August 20th purse bid that would see Crawford receive a 60/40 split.

Bob Arum had talked about wanting to stage it in November, but he’ll have to work fast.

This certainly isn’t the most surprising outcome; Crawford (37-0, 28 KO) has long been at odds with Top Rank, whose barren welterweight roster has resulted in an uninspiring second reign for the former undisputed 140-pound champ. Barring another BAH GAWD THAT’S KAVANAUGH’S MUSIC moment from Triller, I’d put money on Al Haymon and co. winning the purse bid and subsequently snatching “Bud” up once his current contract runs out.

Whatever the case, I just hope this one gets over the finish line; Porter (31-3-1, 17 KO) is Crawford’s most appealing opponent in ages, a genuine top-flight welterweight who’s given some of the division’s best everything they could handle. I’m cool with any outcome that puts these two in the ring.

I see a few delusional Pac haters on the board already. There was reliable reporting and even from Arum himself that the Pac/Crawford fight fell apart cos middle east investors could not come up with funds. When with top rank, Pac demanded 20 mil for the fight, Arum didn't want to pay. We 've seen Arum never wants to pay fighters so how the hell is that Pac's problems? Sure Crawford is dangerous for Pac at this age or any age for that matter, no denying that, but you could say the same the other way around too. Who exactly has Crawford fought that is the caliber of this Pac version? Floyd demanding or getting insane amount to fight the likes of Berto/Guerrero is okay but Pac isn't deserving of 20-30 mil to fight Crawford (top pound for pound) when he's been one fo two fighters that has been carrying boxing for a decade and Crawford brings little to the table, get the fuc outta here. You all the same bunch are the ones that said he had no intention of fighting Spence but yet he signed for that fight. Oh Roach said this and that, Roach has also said he wants the fight just as much as he said he doesn't want it. I just don't get the Pac hate.

Embarrassing. 42 old Pac is saving this division. Without him it is a total crap.

I'd rather be 30yr. old LW moving up, than a 35yr. old former MW moving down! Dumb move on Oscar's part! He fought Mayweather @ 154 in 2007! No way he was making 147 and beating anybody in 2008! ******* is a helluva drug!

Oscar De La Hoya weighs in at 145, Manny Pacquiao at 142

Oscar De La Hoya weighed in at 145 pounds today, a surprising two pounds under the 147-pound limit for Saturday night's fight with Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao, who is moving up from lightweight (135-pound) world champion for the bout, came in at an even lower 142 pounds.

Both fighters acknowledged their fan bases in a packed MGM Grand Garden Arena by holding up their fists as they departed.

I agree man. It was also hard to watch SRL lose to Norris. HE would've KO'ed them both in his prime. No questions about it. SRL is my G.O.A.T. BUT Manny is about to take that spot from Ray, based on longevity and being an A Level fighter, still at his age. Nobody has done what Manny is doing. EVER.

You're not impressed with Boots, Vergil, and Stanionis? They look good to me! Keep your eye out for this kid too:

Daniyar Yeleussinov parts ways with Matchroom Boxing, now a free agent

Daniyar Yeleussinov, 2016 Olympic gold medalist and a top welterweight prospect who wants to become a top contender sooner than later, has parted ways with Matchroom Boxing and is now a free agent.

Yeleussinov (10-0, 6 KO) is 30 years old and with nothing against Matchroom, making a promotional move is probably the right idea. Premier Boxing Champions still control the bulk of the big names at 147 lbs, with Terence Crawford of Top Rank and Golden Boy’s Vergil Ortiz Jr notable exceptions. And while now-former promoter Eddie Hearn had pleaded for Yeleussinov to get a big fight, it didn’t seem that likely under the Matchroom banner, especially now with increased tension between Top Rank and Matchroom.

“I look forward to fighting the better quality fighters and recognized names of the welterweight division in my next few fights,” said Yeleussinov.

“That should lead me to a world title shot. When I was an amateur, my goal was to be the best in the world, and I won the Olympic gold medal. When I turned professional, my goal again was to be the best in the world, and become a world champion. I look forward to signing with a new promoter and they can help on my journey to reach that championship goal.”

Yeleussinov last fought on Nov. 27, smashing former 140 lb titlist Julius Indongo inside of two rounds.

Ali vs. Holmes was depressing too! However, B-Hop going over the top rope...HORRIBLE!

40 mil is a ridiculous request. It’s well beyond anything he’s been paid outside of the mayweather fight and the more logical explanation is , Crawford would retire him so he wants to be paid for what would likely be his last fight.
