Maybe because Boots isn't a household name yet? Also, he did say anyone.

I'm sure they will meet in the ring sooner than later.

I am not so sure. Look at Spence and Crawford situation. Unbeaten Americans like to avoid each other.

Crawford already making excuses as we speak, not only with Ortiz, but Porter as well.

Lol! Mean machine has much heavier hands than either Crawford or Spence. I doubt either one of them can hurt him. Half the time Crawford gets a stoppage his opponent is still on their feet. Hugging is smart and Crawford tried to do the same thing and then managed to actually get dropped. Ortiz has heavy hands just like Mean Machine but is much more athletic and a all around boxer. Not only did Ortiz get mean machine out quicker but he looked much better doing it than Crawford and Crawford’s known as the boxer. Dangerous, dangerous match up for Crawford supposing he actually gets past Porter which is far from a guarantee.

Fight Jaron "Boots" Ennis. He's a part of "anybody", right?

Vergil has huevos already calling top fighters out in his young career. Not like dudes that been in the game for 10 years and dont even dare mention any names. I respect that but i think golden boy is not going to rush him yet why should they. Hes still young has a long long career ahead of him. Hes definitely one of my favorite fighters right now

I WISH that were true. Im sure Ortiz means that but the company that OWNS him will never let that happen. Maybe in 4 years.

The kid clearly wants to be great, fight the best and clearly isn't concerned about taking a loss to the top dogs...nothing more than you can ask from a fighter. As far as Boots,he's clearly a great fighter as well be he hasn't made any noise to be on Ortiz's radar yet. Let him get get some notable wins, build his profile and the two can meet in a couple years at 147/154. Ortizs is in position to fry a lot bigger fishes than Boots right now. That's a benefit of the great matchmaking from GB/Diaz.

Exciting fighter. I like him and his attitude. Still learning, showed some vulnerability for a moment there early on against Mean Machine, but I liked how he came through it and finished like a monster. Would be amazing if he fought Bud in the next twelve months, but I doubt he gets the shot.

What ? Spence wasn’t in attendance? With this fight in his own front yard? It’s time to start calling it like it is regardless of promoters greed. When a fighter wants to fight the best opponent, he Express’s it, anything else is running and hiding.
