But if he entertain fans or not should not go into the rules judging the fight. That's complete BS.

This ain't Pride fighting ( MMA ) where they give you a ticket for not throwing punches
another "purist" who has not been in a fight. what Rigo did was not boxing. this is why excitement is being zapped out of the sport coz you "purist" think it was boxing.
you just bubble textbook words like "cut the ring, not here to entertain but to win". you purists are mindless and dont know **** about this sport.

How many people fight like Rigo? Not many yet yall claim he killing the sport when we literally had a fight of the year type fight the same night.

it aint that serious...... And i stand by what i said..... You can get all in your feelings all you want

Yes it was boring.... But nobody put a gun to my head and force me to watch every single fighter or match on a card.

fighters have a choice to be special or get paid minimum just getting by. But the rules is the rules

      Get over it....

he is killing the sport because this is supposed to be a championship match with the highest boxing standard.
In amateurs, boxers are warned by refs if they dont throw or engage but here in the pros, in a championship bout, that style is encouraged. Rigo and the ref should be stripped off with their licenses.

I disagree with it being encouraged when his career literally took a nose dive the first time he pulled this BS.

My point is.....it's within the rules, and until those rules changed he shouldn't be punished for it.

A Fighter should be warned in the contract they signed, not afterwards by personal discretion.

i agree. Rules in pro bouts have to be changed. It should be more demanding than the amateur rules.
There should be deductions or disqualifications for not engaging.

But until then, this boxing style should not be rewarded with wins. This should always be on the losing side to discourage such tactic.

This is why old school boxing was better coz this absurdity was penalized. Fights are declared no contests if boxers do not engaged.

But this is where I strongly disagree... These guys sign contracts and follow rules. You can't make up your own rules cuz that open up a can of words now any judge can use their opinion to sway fights.

Think about it.... Guys like Rigo should know beforehand that he will be punished for doing these things, cuz now he can say he was robbed now it's controversy.

Or let's say a certain judge is in a certain promoters pocket now he could easily lie or exaggerate things for their fighter to lose or win..

Boxing by nature is too shady to give judges or us fans that much discretion.....it has to be written down and become a rule or else it will lead to shadiness.

Until then all we can do is not watch. Like I stated Rigo career was severely damaged vs Agbeko.

Until the rules chang it's nothing we can do but effect a fighters purse by not watching......

I didn't... Just because I feel like this regarding scoring and judging don't mean I support these type of performances. It was disappointing ASF cuz he had plenty of openings to counter but I'm not surprised.

You don't have to agree with my POV but do you get where I'm coming from?

                  I don't agree with y'all but I understand y'all POV... Trust me

I get what you are saying. But you do you think deserve the win more?
The guy who was trying to win or the guy who was trying not to lose? We should not penalize the guy who is trying to win. that's my point

But this is my point.... Deserve has nothing to do with rules ..... Has nothing to do with punches landed/thrown/effective aggression.

Change the rules so we don't have these back n forth arguments. Problem solved
