Would like to see Buatsi fight for the European title, but Mikhalkin and Bauderlique still have to fight for it next, so I don't think that's going to happen soon enough

Good fight for Buatsi and one he has needed for a while. I've hated the way he has been moved but this was a move in the right direction.

I love how he takes to Hunter's instructions and did some things Ward used to do, in particular that shoulder jab. What Buatsi needs to understand is as the competition improves, he's not going to be able to just take these guys out with head shots. He completely punched himself out in the 6th round and should have instead targeted the body. His defense is a work in progress but his jab is lethal. Spence is someone who doesn't move his head much but still has good defensive principles as he is able to control distance is very well and able to roll shots. Buatsi leaves his head in the center far too much and is open to counters and overhand right hands. He needs to get his shots off and take a step back or bring his hands up. Did better later in the fight but still took some shots he shouldn't have. Thought he showed a nice chin though.

All in all, that was a good performance and fight for Buatsi. Hearn needs to relax talking about title shots and let Hunter determine when he is ready for one.

Craig Richards would be a good fight for him next.

Buatsi needs a couple more camps with Virgil before fighting one of the top guys.

He won’t be able to take those kind of shots from Beterbiev or Smith.
