I'm sure that was a condition for Manny to agree to fight Ugas, who otherwise would have been a very high-risk/low-reward fight. This is why Canelo insisted on getting paid if Plant would have to back out of the fight due to injury or illness. Top tier fighters who only fight twice per year don't want to go through a 2-3 month training camp for nothing.
