This along with them calling for it to be a no contest is good. They need to wipe the stench of this BS away.

You right about that. Hurt for Fox bc young boy put on a primetime performance on short notice against the favorite and took an L for it. Ordering a rematch doesn't do him no justice bc he has to put all that work in again for something that should be his and most likely will hafta deal with this BS judging again. Hopefully the commission gets in on this action and puts some pressure on the WBA as well. That blantant robbery was worse than the Romero-Marinez bout.Comment

Great news. This woman should not be allowed anywhere near a boxing ring until she retakes the ring officials certification program and denounces all of her racist/pro-trump tweets.Comment

Progress continues to come from a night of in-ring injustice. The World Boxing Association (WBA) continues to take key steps towards cleaning up the mess created in its interim welterweight title fight between Gabriel Maestre and Mykal Fox. Venezuela's Maestre (4-0, 3KOs) was awarded a highly questionable twelve-round, unanimous decision verdict and the secondary belt at stake in their August 7 bout that aired live on Fox TV from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Good to see action was taken in what has turned out to be a blatant display of openly racist bias by a boxing judge. I remember vividly the ****** racism that came out of the Holmes v Cooney fight and remember thinking just how much that exposed the sport of boxing for its tendency to descend into muck. The era of political populism and the “freedom” (ie to act with some degree of anonymity) that comes with hiding behind the internet has really done a number on boxing these days. It’s good to see that at least to some degree that boxing has to own up to at least one instance of racism that has clearly harmed the career of one young man deserving of victory.Comment

This is the way I see it also. A “no contest” is still a robbery for Fox and a gift to Maestre. I have no problem with them having a rematch but Fox should be given the win that he worked for and Maestre should have a loss on his record.Comment
