They most likely knew of the injury and were going to try and mask it then they saw some old tape from the Margarito fight and an off the cuff comment about his face looking like Margs made him rethink his health. If NSAC says its an eye injury it is what it is .

I think Spence had to get checked after getting roughed up in sparring. I figure the day after that they knew about his eye- which would explain why Ugas was sparring a southpaw like 3 or so days ago.

I also think Manny wants the payday for the political campaigns. Those are expensive and you can’t just get the money back.

I also think with Haymon near the end of his Fox deal, he couldn’t risk not having a fight, especially with the plant debacle.

My guess is Manny got a nice bump in guarantee to offset the ppv upside loss.

Also the injury announced the day after the pbc countdown for Spence / Manny on Fox debuted on TV.

what I’m not sure about is if this is Manny’s last pbc fight or he owes 1 more. If it’s his last then expect some judging shenanigans.

Probably as Tua said, they knew about the "injury" way before they made the announcement.

Tried to push through, but Spence didn't look too good in training so they pulled the plug. Ugas was always their plan B.

They promised Spence the Ugas-Manny winner so now they have 2 big ww fights instead of 1.

Spence gets a breather, Ugas gets a career defining fight, Manny still gets paid, PBC gets 2 big fights no matter what

Lets say its legit and Errol had to withdraw I think it was easy to get Ugas, on the same card training for a fight same promotor, it is the obvious choice, its easy to come up with a conspiracy theory to anything, should they have canceled the whole show, pay TC 20ml to take it on a weeks notice, sometimes things just fall a certain way, if its BS it will come out but the sealer for me is it was the Nevada Commissions own Doctors that said no fight.

There's no way they can get tc in a pbc event.

But if they pulled out early enough, maybe Manny does tc in September or October.

He might be slow but he's big and strong.

Remember against big and strong guys, pac needs them to exchange and slug and come forward to beat them down.

If they play defensive, pac is too small to break them down and force a fight.

Look at clottey, broner, Mosley when he started moonwalking, etc.

When they get defensive, pac can't break them down.

The big, strong guys that pac beat down are the guys coming at him. Guys who punch so pac can find openings.

Marg, cotto, Hatton, delahoya, etc.

Say he finds out he has a tear in his retina.

They said they went to 3 doctors in the end.

Say 1st doctor informs him of the tear.

Theyre still trying to go ahead with the fight and seek the 2nd and 3rd opinion.

In the meantime, he goes ahead and spars.

Maybe thats why he performed so badly in that sparring.
