I actually think this fight is a better fight even though it delays a new Ring champion. I know NSB disagrees but here's the thing.

Manny held up the division. He was right to be stripped. Period.

Keef was a dumb ass for ducking Ugas to get his belt back. Had he done that, he would have made a case for a Pacquiao rematch right now if he'd won, which then opens up the Spence fight he wanted.


Keef is the biggest loser here.


As for Spence...I remember his eye looking real bad at one point some months ago. Didn't think too much of it but to my knowledge this is the first time he's withdrawn due to an injury of any kind. I wonder if he fought Danny with the injury (just like Keef fought Danny injured).


It basically resets the division back to what it was before Manny started chasing a lightweight.

If Spence is not forced to vacate, it's a bigger fight and now, Manny will have earned the belt back rather than deal with it being handed to him or if Ugas pulls it out, it will force NSB to recognize him as an actual threat to the others. Especially Crawford.
