This trailer trash bum is extremely lucky to be even considered as an opponent for Canelo and in fact, like one poster already said, he should be on his knees begging for that Canelo fight. But being the low iq individual that he is (like his master) it doesn’t surprise me

Spence will prolly finish his career at 154. Same with Porter and perhaps Thurman.
Andre Ward started at 175 then dropped to 168 before going back to 175.

So why is Canelo under a different microscope? He’s got 10 fights (I’m guessing) left in his career to guarantee himself an ATG status. Best option is to stay at 168 and defend it against the top guys.
Canelo turned pro at 15. If you want to use that logic, Chavez Jr. started his career at 130. Kovalev at 15 was in the amateurs and he fought at Super Welterweight in 2000 and Middleweight in 2001.

You're expecting people to compare people who turned pro in their 20's to someone who turned pro halfway through puberty, hoping they won't notice.

Also, Andre Ward started his career at 160.

It was like an 80/20 or 85/15 split in canelo's favor the split was agreed on that was not the problem. This is what Canelo tried to do. There's a clause in the contract that if Canelo gets sick or injured they have to delay the event till he is able to perform. No biggie right, that seems reasonable?

But get this in the reverse case that Caleb plant gets injured or get popped for one of those bogus covid tests Canelo wants to keep the event on the same date with a replacement opponent and he wants PBC to still pay him the same amount of money the same front end guarantee. So let's say PBC guarantees 40 million dollars to Canelo for this fight. Canelo thinks he is still entitled to 40 million if in the last couple weeks something happens to Caleb plant and a b side alternate needs to be brought in. After all the promotional work they did for that. Not a different price point not less money he wants the exact same money in the event of an opponent change. That is absolutely crazy and that's why PBC would not sign off on it. Again like I said the greatest risk is either guy could test positive for covid with no symptoms because that's the nature of the PCR test. Canelo Flexed his Diva muscles on this one big time.

His alternative was to try to get Bivol down to as low of a weight as possible with a rehydration clause as well. A little trick he learn from Floyd Mayweather. The Bivol fight fell apart too. And now Canelo does not have an opponent because he tried to **** two different promoters. The September date was a traditional big pay-per-view date fight weekend in the Latino Community built up by Oscar De La Hoya and Bob arum. He lost that day by screwing around and that is why Caleb plant is taunting him.

Very ****** replies on here. Incredibly ****** actually. First of all this was going to be a career-high Payday for Canelo. It was going to be a career-high Payday for both of these guys but it is dependent on it being a unification title fight for Supremacy in the 168 lb division and a successful pay-per-view. The main financier of the fight you know the person that actually puts up the 40 million? Is PBC. Canelo doesn't pay himself 40 million. Previously Canelo was getting corporate welfare from dazn and PBC already spent all of its corporate welfare money keeping itself afloat the last few years. PBC won't pay 40 million unless they get a genuine pay-per-view attraction fight that generates over 40 million in Revenue. They won't pay for Canelo to fight a replacement opponent or anyone other than Caleb plant. Never in the history of boxing has someone asked for that sort of deal. He is absolutely f$$king delusional. As are the people that comment without even reading the article..
This was a damn good post.

            absolutely !

            good call

I had the first fight a draw

and when I checked boxingscene, I saw they also scored that fight a draw

to your point about... " clear "... FACT: in 5 of those rounds, there was a CLEAR winner, no question about it... the other rounds were all nip-n-tuck, and VERY close

and most of the remaining 7 rounds were not only close, they were difficult to score

the acceptable swing for judging in that fight, covered ALL bases... both fighters, and the draw

in the rematch, I think you REALLY need to stretch hard to say that Golovkin won that fight... I 100% think Golovkin knew he lost that fight... that is my opinion

the " Golovkin clearly won both fights " people .... are just ignorant fanboys

the " Golovkin clearly won both fights easy " people .... are just shltheads, who probably don't believe that nonsense themselves

Canelo is the Pope though wether people like it or not. If he doesn’t get Covid and his opponent does it’s in his nature to blame them. If he gets Covid then that’s just unfortunate, you will just have to wait. Im not saying any of this if right, but it’s straight up boxing. You want the biggest purse of your career and a chance to unify while you only collected one of the belts? You are going to have to follow instructions. With Covid you are only as strong as your weakest link. Your whole team could sleep in the gym but a food delivery driver could ruin things for you. I understand the risk is too high for PBC. Course I think it would be ballsy and badass if they just said “fine”. Maybe even ask for an extra million for it. Course that’s not the precedent of boxing. We all knew that going after the last belt being with PBC was going to be a hard get done. So no surprise, things are difficult… well more than even usual.

I completely disagree with The_Hamster post...

Plant is in the right in this negotiation. Most people don't know what the negotiation fell apart because of. The money was not the issue for plants purse. FACT: Canelo is not only a SUPERSTAR... he is the biggest draw in boxing my MILES

FACT: Plant is not only, NONE of those things... he is relatively unknown, even in his own hometown LMAO

and here is the real kicker...

FACT: the purse is not affected by Canelo's opponent in the Plant fight

FACT: the purse would also NOT be affected by Canelo's opponent if Plant pulls out injured... nothing would change

FACT: we know that Canelo would select a good replacement opponent... we know this...

so, there is no problem whatsoever with Canelo insisting the fight proceed with a replacement, and that his purse remain unchanged

I completely disagree with anyone who thinks that is unreasonable

I 100% know this... Plant does not give a fat flying fk about anything in that post... NOTHING... only Haymon does... think about that

                  I stand corrected then.

I still hold the same sentiments regarding Canelo staying at 168 to unify and rule it for 5 years. There’s no Shame in that at all.

He is free to mock Canelo and make fun of him all he wants. I am sure he will not be mocking him when they get in the ring and he starts feeling Canelo’s power.

My bad, I thought you were one of the dudes on here that knew that and were trying to deceive people. Didn't mean to come off as aggressive.
