Fans like you are toxic. How on earth are you gonna sit on your Unemployed back end and laugh At a kid chasing greatness? You laughing at an Olympic Silver Medallist! When you’ve not come close to even winning one light sparring session!

You have a whole load of growing up to do my guy. I feel sorry for whoever has reared you as you must be a stain on any family. Have a great day won’t you on those invisible accomplishments you’ve earned.

Fuccing Bum. Go pay that light bill you owe before spending money on mobile data to laugh at Olympic medalist on a boxing forum. Man you’re life sucks.

Another year without any great stand out US amateurs. If I was a Yank it wouldn't bother me though, pro game is much more important. Stevenson has done much better as a pro than the guy he lost the gold medal match to. Teo didn't medal but has achieved more as a pro than any 2016 Olympian.

Cruz looked awful fast in there. Three rounds are almost as quick. Lose one frame and it can be over just like that. As for Davis being a “scrub”: I don’t know what the criteria are for professional boxers fighting in the Olympics. Probably no real stars will want to compete (doesn’t seem to stop them in basketball, though), but even a solid, seasoned pro can prove disastrous to a young amateur. There’s a reason why newly-minted pros are usually brought up very slowly when they leave the amateur ranks. A promising talent can be derailed by some journeyman real easy. On a side note, I’m amazed Cuba remains a force in the Olympics — not just in boxing, but overall. #patriayvida

Davis will be the standout of the class. The amateur game is just different compared to the pro game. Coach Walsh has helped the team out tremendously but other countries have mastered the amateur game better. No head gear and now the 10-9 scoring system has helped and that's why you are even seeing US Olympians compete with the chance to win the gold medal. It's just extremely difficult to beat someone like Cruz in three rounds without having the chance to break him down over the course of the fight. Ramirez was a 2x gold medalist and looks average as hell in the pro game. Conlan was a very good amateur and is pretty mediocre himself.

But aside from Davis, I'm not sure how many top level pros you will see from this class. There were other top amateurs of this class that went pro and stayed pro that will possibly do better.

Oh yeah it's been done horrible ones in history. Yeah I think it might be some behind the scenes politics behind them.

Im not an American dumbo, even if i was I wouldn’t have supported this bully mf unless he was still an amateur fighter going against other amateurs. He got embarrassed being that he’s already professional.

He's had three fights in the pro ranks against bums. He fought better competition in the Olympics than he has in the pros. I don't think you have a clue of what you're talking about. This isn't in established pro champion competing in the Olympics. And besides, just because you are a pro doesn't mean you have a big advantage in the amateur game. It’s a totally different ball game. And besides, Davis is only 22 years old while you are seeing full grown men at the age of 27 or 30 or 32 win Gold. That's being more of a "bully" than a 22 year old with these fights against inferior competition.

Yeah I agree. Cruz’s big fight experience showed, he knew when to up the pace, change the tempo etc. That put’s him 5 wins out of 5 in major tournaments now I think.

Yeah, he wins pretty much every big tournament. He did lose to the guy Davis beat earlier in the tournament but was that at a major tournament?

I'd be interested in seeing how Cruz would do in the pro ranks.
