Comments Thread For: Luke Santamaria Derails Devon Alexander's Comeback, Wins Unanimous Decision

Devon Alexander has a hard choice to make. The former two-division titlist has lost three straight and five of his last seven starts, the latest setback coming in a ten-round unanimous decision defeat to Lucas Santamaria. Scores were 98-92, 98-92 and 97-93 in favor of Santamaria in their junior middleweight bout Saturday evening live on Fox from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As I said Alexander was just here for a Haymon handout. Hopefully we are never tortured with another garbage Alexander fight again.

It’s time to hang up the gloves, Devon. You don’t have it anymore and it’s only going to get more dangerous from here on out. Obviously you love the sport, young fighters need a trainer, there’s a place for you

It's okay Alexander, no shame in calling it quits.

Unless he just wants to come in as a punching bag for paydays, Alexander really needs to hang em up. His addiction troubles took up anything he had left as a boxer and he has just looked worse and worse since that Martinez upset forever ago. Sad to see how hard he has fallen.

Gotta pay the bills. One or two more. No shame in a decision loss.

Great post man. Was sad looking at Alexander in there tonight, usually with a past prime fighter you can still see flashes of what they used to be able to do, you can’t even see that with Devon. He’s so far gone at this point. Do not want to see him fight again. As you said, there’s still a role for him in the sport, he definitely has knowledge he can pass on to the younger generations.

He was straight-up done after Porter took his soul with that savage beating. Hell, even Bradley took a chunk of it and that fight wasn't even a beating.
