What I don't get is why he bid so much for Lopez/Kambosos though? That was only going to be a one off and not even a big fight.

I guess this interview was before Canelo-Bivol fell through so that should increase the likelihood of it taking place. And an option on a fight for the winner isn't an unreasonable demand.

Yea, I think Hearn mentioned that somewhere.
Though DAZN is currently negotiating an extension with GBP who probably also want more than before.

yeah, definitely see some posturing of sorts with Hearn's comments. Prograis and Mikey is a good fight but it won't come cheap, Hearn trying to get a little back in return if DAZN is going to foot the bill.

As for Lopez and Kambosos play, maybe it was more of a shot at Arum to embarrass him and send a message to other fighters - that Matchroom values Bob's fighters more than Bob does. Leading up to that purse bid, Teo and Bob seemed a little frosty. When the dust settled and Bob put in a 3rd place offer, he amended that deal to make Lopez happy.
