I honestly think Reynoso isn’t bright enough to see PBC’s risk assessment. You can only offer $40mil if you foresee the revenue coming. If you see a halt in revenue lately, like USA reports and Delta rising again, you might realize that backing in Vegas for Canelo have been stunted. Sales gate is important too. Every bit counts. Sales gate expectations reflect how Vegas would do in those nights. Haymon is a Vegas kid. He knows the connects. He probably knows that the current rise for infections might affect the outcome which is why everyone is crying about the $40mil guarantee for a replacement that would have to be acknowledged from both sides. That is also Reynoso’s fault.

of course PPV and Vegas for a superstar is what investors want, add a Mexican holiday and even more looot.

if there wasn’t a rise again for Delta I think the fight would be a go. It’s rather smart from Haymon’s side to use an excuse that isn’t because of risk assessment and Covid, not the infection by the fighters.

i mean if PBC and Reynoso have plans for late October or early November then what was the problem with Plant crying saying, “well if Canelo gets sick or injured I wait…”. Realistically Plant is waiting now. At least the pressure and time wasted for the Mexican holiday is off.

This fight sucks. Why do people always get fooled by the belts? These boxers and promoters trick everyone, like tricking a 3 year old by danging a shiny toy in front of him. Was Julius Indongo vs Terence Crawford a good fight because Indongo had belts?

Fights like these are not worth the DAZN subscription fee. Anyone paying $240 a year for DAZN, which is the same as paying for four PPVs per year (that's crazy!), is being duped. This new business model represents the same old tricks, just with new dressing. Even with all the tired, repetitive, drummed up soap opera negotiation bull**** to try to build interest in this fight, I still don't think anyone cares about it.

Whether you pay $70 PPV for a bad matchup, or you pay $240 in DAZN fees a year for maybe two matchups you care about and some others that you watch out of boredom, a bad matchup is still a bad matchup, and you're still throwing your money down the drain. That's my opinion, anyway.

Lol. Canelo been more active than Plant since December of 2020. Those were all VADA testing. $40million is nothing because Canelo’s income supersedes it. Canelo made $30mil for BJS. That’s Canelo’s minimum rate and his events have been nothing but progressive and a success.

Q4 2021 Canelo $30mil
Q2 2022 Canelo $30mil
Q4 2022 Canelo $30mil
Q4 2023 Canelo $30mil
Q4 2023 Canelo $30mil

That’s only a conservative and minimum amount since Canelo would make more every time, AND, Canelo wants to fight 3 times a year.

so as you can see, $40mil to $30mil. lol. It’s been said before, Canelo can clearly SEE how much he makes. You think him viewing a difference of $10mil would affect his future income?

Only a Canelo hater would be this dumb not to see the numbers. “Highest purse” when he’s the highest earner…

Bad look for Canelo. Tried to play hardball with Haymon but ended up having to crawl back to negotiate again. Should've been less of a diva first time around and fight would be set for September. Also pretended to have an interest in Bivol, then quickly changed tactics when he realised he might actually have to fight him.

Not great that Canelo was using Bivol as a bargaining tactic, but idk why Canelo is getting all the hate. He’s desperate to make the Plant fight and Plant will get paid more than he ever will again - just so he stops holding his belt hostage whilst fighting no hopers.
