I always thought Manny won't beat Floyd, even post Cotto which is Manny's peak. Aside from their styles, Floyd is about an entire weight division bigger than Manny. Just didn't see it happening.

Manny actually did even better than I was expecting even with the busted shoulder.

From 130 to 147 the known fight night weights put Floyd and Manny and JMM around 4 pounds apart, they could have fought across 5 divisions and there was never a weight class between them, you guys talk size and weight but pull it out your ass, go by the real numbers that are recorded not by a fans guestimate.

He certainly ducked rematches with biggest rivals. Why not have 2 wins over PAC, because at the end of the day PAC is going to be considered higher ATG when all is said and done, and 2 wins over PAC is better than 1 win over PAC.
2 wins over PAC you can claim your better h2h. 1 win you can't do that.

You don't just give rematches to people people think you lost to. You give rematches when people expected triology. You give rematches to your biggest rivals. You give rematches as you had all advantages in first fight so rematches is the least you could give. You give rematches as you gave stinker of a fight so owe fans. You give rematches if there was any kind of controversy which could have been anything from supposed injuries, IV use, poor judging etc etc. You give rematches as first fight was so good quality and fans want the same again from the best in the business

I think everyone noticed the divergence between Floyd and Manny on what kind of fighters they are. Ever since Floyd fought McGregor and all his fights thereafter, people know Floyd is a showman. Ever since Manny fought Thurman and choosing Spence after a 2-year layoff, people acknowledge that Manny is a real fighter.
