Great article and when Roach says he's great, he must be great. He should get a title shot as soon as possible because of his age.

Well, of course but you've also never seen him fight a great world champ in a hard fight for twelve rounds either. He has only fought complete hacks so far for a few rounds. I agree that he's great and very relaxed but until I see him do twelve rounds that will still bother me about him. Apart from that though, he will certainly win a title but it still worries me somewhat. You know?Comment

and the hype is equally foolish for a guy barely two fights into his pro career
yeah yeah amateur smamateur we all know how celebrated he is
let him get some wins over quality opposition first THEN we can assess whether he is indeed the goods. Andrade is a good step but considering the man has a 4-11 record away from country methinks his record is bloatedComment

Well obviously the hype comes from his amateur background.and the hype is equally foolish for a guy barely two fights into his pro career

All amateur stars that turn pro get some sort of hype since they SHOULD do good in the pros too.Comment

Well offcourse that can happen but what I'm saying it's normal that a amateur star get more hype than a guy who wasn't much of a pro upon turning pro.
Roy Jones Jr. got hype.Bernard Hopkins didn't for example. And they both had great careers.
Rigo doesn't get the hype due to his 2 fights but upon what he did in the amateurs. He was hyped even before turning pro.Comment

What's wrong with the hype? Whenever a guy has a 450-10 amateur record or whatever it is and is a multiple Olympic Gold Medalist they deserve the hype, especially when he's working with the best trainer in the game and that very same trainer is saying he's one of the best fighters he's ever worked with in his life, that means something.
Yes, captain obvious, he has yet to prove anything as a pro, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't all be excited about his great potential. He could very well fall short of his goals, but if any prospect deserves hype he is the guy. He has shown better skills than amir khan, gamboa, james kirkland, et al. If anything, he isn't getting enough hype imo since Khan and Gamboa got more attention in their first two fights that he did.Comment
