He fought Tarver at 175 and won, then fought him again at 175 and got ktfo in 2 rounds.

14 months after fighting at heavyweight, 6 months after beating Tarver at 175 and then he got KTFO in 2.

Then people make up some **** he's weight drained?

Who cares he was 36 at the time, its quite obvious his reflexes/speed were not as fast as they once were.

What people don't realize is that Roy at his best rarely went toward the ropes and took shots. He would cut off the ring and throw fast combinations. It was more than obvious that the weight gain and loss had severely affected him. Maybe have even moreso mentally than anything.

The Roy Jones that fought Tarver in the first fight was nowhere near himself and it was very clear to see. Had Jones been knocked out like he had been in the second fight in the first, I would lean toward Tarver effectively being Jones' career closer, but that's not how it went down. Based on the way Roy fought the first fight, it's cler to me that he was already faded and most likely would not have been caught by that Tarver shot had he been closer to his best. The first fight told the real story. Jones never got worked over like that before and it had nothing to do with Tarver himself, it was Jones just finally showing his age/ring wear. All Tarver did was time the punch like he was supposed to do, but the shot would have never been available to be able to throw on a prime Jones in my opinion.

That's my take and I have always felt that way. Peace.

Calzaghe and Johnson are tough fights for anyone and would of caused Roy some trouble.

I would pick Jones to win by decision against Johnson and to beat Calzaghe by a UD or late on stoppage.
